SABLE RANCH

The Sable Ranch was built by Frank Sentous around 1920. In 1940, Ralph Wagner bought the property. Others have owned the property since then, including George White. According to Tinsley Yarbrough, the current name of the ranch was obtained during the chicken raising period with their advertisements referring to the chickens as "smooth as sable".

Used in recent years for the television series "V", "Bret Maverick", and "Harts of the West", the ranch has also been seen in the movies "Diplomatic Immunity" (1991), "A Message from Holly" (1992), "Robin Hood: Men in Tights" (1993), and "Deadwood" (1997).
