HAYDEN MOVIE RANCH

Actor Russell Hayden, one of the original owners of Pioneertown, owned a 35 acre parcel southeast of that town. When he sold the Judge Roy Bean television series in 1955, he built a replica of Langtry, Texas, on his property.

There was an open-side saloon set, but most of the sets were weather-tight. The general store became his home. “The Scarlet Lady” is an 1890’s railroad car which Hayden brought to the ranch prior to his death in 1981. This rail car still stands on the property, rusting, a short distance from the only remaining building/set.

DIRECTIONS: The former movie ranch is located just a short distance from Pionnertown, on the south side of Pioneertown Road, near Annie Oakley Road and Curtis Road.
