New Fist Of Fury (VHS) * *

Although not very keen, Jackie joins a Chinese kung-fu school in order to protect himself against the evil acts of a rivalry, Japanese school.

Although the dubbing is disastrously bad, this film is not too bad, for its age anyway (1976).

The fight scenes are not at all realistic, they are too slow and not near enough effort was put into the fight scenes. Being a student of Karate myself, if I had tried to punch and block as lamely as they do in this film, I would surely fail.

The trouble with these older films is there too much emphasis on the fighting and not enough effort on the scripts.

The action only really starts when Jackie fights the bad guy at the end. After ages and ages of fighting, he wins of course. Only to be shot by the Japs at the end. Booooo.

There are some good photo shots of Bruce Lee to be seen in here, which is good seeing as this is supposed to be a continuation of Bruce Lee's Fist of Fury.
