Mr Nice Guy (VHS) * * * * *
(This is one of his best films ever)
The kung fu fighting chef innocently gets caught up in a drugs fight and in trying to escape the bad guys, his girlfriend gets held to ransom. By hand over the tape, which accidentally gets switched with his video of a cooking show, and he gets the girl back. Sadly its not that easy. Set with many great fight scenes and acrobatic skills, its a great hit among my favourites. A real treat to see the limits of the human body. What's more, its the first ever Jackie film to be filmed entirely in English. In a scene where Jackie manages to toss a piece of food several floors in the air and into someone's mouth, its a wonder how many takes were needed to accomplish it. And the grand exit of his usual films is no different, destroying a splendid glass house in a fit of revenge is so breath taking, it keeps you staring at the screen in awe. The greatest film ever, I just can't wait to buy a DVD version and see what extra's there are.
