Just an Actor?
So you think Jackie Chan is just another one of those actors who just shoots films and has no real emphasis on the real world? Well that's where you are wrong. Let me tell you what I think Jackie Chan is all about. Lets start with his film life, as that's what it is, a separate life. Starting on a film is no easy task, nerves and stage fright affect even the bravest of people, even him. His approach to film making and kung fu spectaculars is no less that absolute dedication. After all, I have seen no other actor, or actress, put so much work, dedication and effort into their work than he does. So many of his films prove this, drunken master and gorgeous are but two of them. If ever you watch the out takes at the end of most of his films, you will know just how much he strives for perfection. Seldom do actors get things right first time, but when Jackie gets it right, no matter how many takes are needed, it just goes to show what can be achieved with perseverance and dedication. If he was to shoot a scene and say, "yeah that's good enough, no one will notice," well then his films would be boring and unworthy, but that's not our Jackie. Every little detail is perfected and the films are astounding. Hence the fact that the films he has directed himself are far more spectacular than any directed by anyone else. The rest of the acting world could take tips from this man, whether kung fu or otherwise. Setting his acting skills aside, there is so much more to this man that being behind and in front of a camera. His love for all things big and small is just as great as you and I. Did you know that Jackie is the ambassador of the Yes Asia wildlife conservation society? Well he is. I myself know what its like to care about wildlife, I used to work in a wildlife park. Only they closed down because people don't care about conservation any longer, and I have been unable to continue in this field of work. Unlike Jackie and myself, there are very few people who take the time to care for the many thousands of species of animals that are being killed each year. And by whom? US. Each year we increase our population, expand our rural abodes and thus decrease the worldly habitats. The habitats that animals once thrived in. Thousands of species die each year because of our needless roadways and our homely expansions, and no one seams to care. So hooray to Jackie is what I say, if more people cared about our wildlife as he and I do, then perhaps this world would not be such a bad place to be. As I am a poet and author, here's a poem I have written just for Jackie. When I finally meet him, I will give it to him and let you know his remarks.
Chan Kong Sang A thought about our world A care for dying beast A dream to keep them living to eat another feast Survive another day Breath another breath Caring, aiding Helping what's left A quest of hope for nature From a man who knows its worth The greatest caring man alive Who cares about the earth. |
