City Hunter (DVD) * * * * * * * * * * (My 5star ratings can not sufficiently compare this unbelievably enjoyable film, a definite 10 out of 5)
Have you ever wondered what Jackie Chan would look like in drag? Well here's your chance. This film is totally unbelievable from start to finish and beyond that too. Throwing his traditional Kung fu style right out the window, Jackie really made this comedy a hit. Of all the countless films I have watched in my life time, both Jackie Chan films and other films, this is by far the most enjoyable, pain inducing laughter file you will ever have the honour to watch. Even non-martial arts fans will enjoy this cracker, if you don't there's something seriously wrong with your mind. Jackie plays the womanising Hunter, City Hunter, the new James bond. Aboard a cruise liner filled with scheming gangsters, Jackie and loads of very good looking girls get caught up in foiling the bad guys, at least I thinks that's what happens. The story line is not to easy to follow, but with the comedy and action filling every second of the film, who cares what storyline, if any, there is. The most laughable scene is when Jackie is thrown into a street fighter 2 arcade game machine, thus turning into various characters and fighting the bad guy, who by the way transforms into Ken. Changing from Dhalsim (the elastic man), into Ryu and a few others that I'm not even sure of their names, and finally beating Ken when he transforms into the one and only Chun-Li. This scene is by far the funniest and is sure to be something you'll never forget. According to the interview with Jackie Chan after the film, he says he hopes to make a sequel to this one day, I just long for that day to come. His action is superb, his comedy is hilarious, and Jackie Chan, is the MAN.
