THE HUMAN FIGURE IN MOTION

This project is a recreation and an updating of A Study In Human Motion originally created in 1896. The purpose of the project was to study the human figure in motion. This is an ongoing project that we have been working on for many years. It is a very serious and intense project for artists and art students. Please email with questions or further information.

Back then it was considered mostly a scientific study as well as an art study. Today the use will be for artists, art teachers and animators to study human motion in detail. The photographer is a professional with 30 years experience as a fashion advertising photographer and also as a director of commercials, feature films and music videos.

NO Experience Required

We need a large number of models for this project. You do NOT need to be a professional model or even have any experience as a model or artist’s model but you must be OK with tasteful artistic nudity, even if you have never done it before.

If you have some sort of movement experience: dance, sports, theater, gymnastics, martial arts, swords, taiko, ethnic dance, etc are helpful but is NOT required. Many of the movements will be very simple — just everyday, ordinary movements like "pick up that book" or "bounce a ball."

NO MODELING EXPERIENCE IS NECESSARY,
however you must be comfortable with tasteful, artistic nudity.

In the past we have photographed two trained geishas (one of them was principal dancer in the movie Memoirs of a Geisha), martial artists, Irish dancers, athletes, mimes, actors, two tranditional Chinese dancers, drummers, ballet artists, boxers, golfers, gymnasts and many, many "just regular" people.

Safe, Clean, Professional Working Environment
The working environment will be a professional studio: clean, safe and the few professional technicians who will be there will be completely respectful of your dignity. The studio is in a professional artist's complex near downtown LA; very safe, gated neighborhood.

You are welcome to bring a friend or relative at all times (including the very brief interview) so that you will feel more comfortable and safe. We are looking for women and men (sometimes couples). All types, all ages (must be 18+ with photo ID). Please include photos with your reply; the more the better.

HOW TO APPLY: Just email by clicking here. No personal data neeed but pelase include photos. Feel free to ask any questions you may have or to request further information.

DOES IT PAY?
This is paid modeling at above the normal rates for artists modeling. We pay in cash on the day of the shoot. We have been working on this project for years, and no model has ever been unhappy about the conditions or the pay; in fact most have been enthusiastic about coming back again.

Or you may choose to trade for high-quality professional photos: headshots, fashion, you in action, or whatever you need. In return for modeling for us for an hour less (probably only about a half an hour) the creator of this project, a professional photographer with 30 years experience will shoot photos for you for whatever you need: headshots, athletic photos, personal shots, artistic —even including an incredible Facebook pic if you want. We can also shoot a video of you in an acting scene: HD camera, professional director.

Whether you are paid in cash or trade is entirely up to you.
