year olds and younger children may need a hand with it.

flyablility make this the FLIGHT SIM. Basically if you want to fly in

A great CD for the lovers of the Animaniacs Cartoon or just any kid

There are 5 fully featured games on this CD based upon the Cartoon
series. It has excellent graphics and sound with Animaniacs
introducing and complimenting the games. (I'm sure South Park got
it's concept from Animaniacs as they are a little irreverant)
The 5 games are Belchinator, Drop Shop Drop, Minigolf (I played it
for ages and it's very good) Smoocher and Balloon Drop.

The old Mechwarriors were good fun - but now the new 3 is really hot.
With the new 3D fx cards and system speed etc it really brings the action to life.
It takes a while to build up speed but once up and running these mechs

who wish to "roam" and "plunder" this is a hot game !!! (Just got

Toca 2 is a top game from Codemasters (Colin McRae Rally) fame

This game has been billed as the Quake killer !!!
With graphics that would not be out of place in Half Life
with the gameplay being slicker and faster than all other
games of its genre. Choose to be an Alien Marine or Predator,
each with very different missions and weaponry and skills that
even the match between the three - especially necessary for
multiplayer modes. Sound track is stunning bid screen style
and specially designed for those high end sound cards.
As far as first person 3D shooters is concerned AvP is up with
best of them. I've just been an "Alien" for a while and walking
upside down on the roof can be very disconcerting - but very
benificial to my goals which vary enourmously for each

Based roughly during the 15th century, Claw takes us to an almost parallel earth where the known world is ruled by the Cocker Spaniard Kingdom. However, instead of playing a human, cyborg, or mushroom like in other popular side-scrolling adventures, you get to play a part in one of the classic rivalries -- cats against dogs! Your role in this monumental adventure is that of Captain Nathaniel J. Claw, a feline pirate of the seven seas, infamous to all. The King, tired of your exploits, has put a rich bounty on your head of one million gold pieces, dead or alive.
Claw is filled with 14 huge levels to play through, with each level progressing you further towards escape and the Nine Lives Amulet. So how big is huge? Well, the first three levels will probably take you twenty minutes each, but once you hit level four, The Dark Woods, expect to spend at least an hour or more. Each level is unique and draws you far deeper into the story than you would ever expect a side-scroller to accomplish, but Claw does so easily. As an example, once you escape from La Roca prison, you fight your way through the Battlements to a showdown with your captor. Once slaying him, which is no easy feat, you escape to the Footpath and then The Dark Woods. As you reach certain points in the game, you'll see animated cutscenes which relate more of the storyline to you. These cutscenes are professionally animated movies when it comes right down to it and their depth rivals some Disney movies I've seen. The movies run full screen using Microsoft's ActiveMovie technology and while a bit more grainy than you might like, run without skips or other graphical pops we've seen in other in-game movies.
Overall this may be the hit of the year - it is very good and very entertaining and a great way to lose sleep !!!

New Exciting and very very gruesome - so much so it has an 18+ rating with warning on installation that after installation and playing - this kind of violence has been linked to anti social behaviour of kinds (sounds like the pokies).
But seriously this game is violent !!. It's a first person shooter - a la Quake Doom etc with it's own look and feel. One of the most anticipated games yet to come to the market. There is a low level violence install however. But this is one game that should NOT be in the hands of the young. Requires at least P200 32mb ram (64mb better) 570mb hard drive
and Video card that supports glide or 3dfx.

Anyone remember
those really crusty old games where you controlled
a space craft that was trying to land on the moon? They were pretty
tricky, because you had to keep a very watchful eye on the craft's
multiple thrusters, making sure that it was gently falling to its
target without going too fast or crashing into a mountain. It's
been a long, sad while since most people have had a chance to
experience this genre but now Lander is here to correct this
unfortunate oversight. Lander takes the classic gameplay and
completely re-works it for the modern 3D age.
The lander craft that you control is a tricky beast at the start -
it seems like just touching the mouse sends you out of control and
crashing into the ground. The mouse / keyboard hybrid control
system does indeed need a balance of skill and practice to master,
but shouldn't prove too hard for most gamers. Once that's done
you can fly around to your heart's content, following waypoints
and hopefully landing at the target without putting too much of
a dent in your shields.
It's great to see one of gaming's coolest concepts finally get
a modern make-over. The visuals are in typical Psygnosis fashion
heavy on the cool lighting effects but it's the simple but
addictive gameplay that really stands out. Nice one guys.

What originally started
out as a fantasy in which everyone played
a different dragon has grown into a more Tomb Raider-style
third-person action/adventure. The main character is a warrior
named Rynn. Don't be fooled by her slinky gait (thanks to the
highly articulated model, shown below)-the woman can kick
butt with a broadsword.
Early gameplay takes place on the ground; but soon, players
are introduced to Arokh-your trusted Dragon partner-and then
battle takes to the air through most of the game's 15 levels.
Graphics and game play are brilliant - it is a game that will
provide
hours of thrilling enjoyment. More than just a "shooter" it
will provide an almost endless challenge for the reflexes as well
as your wits.

for making it hip to see over your character's
shoulder rather than through her eyes. You should also thank
Lara for the wave of third-person action games competing for
your attention. One such game is Interplay's DIE BY THE
SWORD, a fantasy-based, third-person action game that
adds sword fighting to the mix.
Apart from quests which will challenge the reflexes and tactics
there are seperate arena battles - which is great if you just want
to do mindless "hacking" (and get hacked).
All in all the graphics and game play are excellent and it is a
great game for those - Mortal Combat types as well as those
who like to stretch the brains with excellent and challenging
"quests" to work through.

"liberate" things of value where out right violence is not the
best or sole weapon - STEALTH AND WITS are.
It is brilliantly conceived and one "hell of a game"

For those in
need of smelling salts, Unreal Tournament is a gorgeous stand-alone
First-Person Shooter which accurately simulates the rough and tumble
of online deathmatches in single player mode, while also providing
the same no-holds barred gib tomfoolery for the hard-core LAN or
Internet player.
Epic have (wisely) dispensed with any vague notion of a storyline
and instead thrown in all the best ideas of multiplayer gaming into
the melting pot, making effectively five games in one, which are
spread over 32 intense levels.
Standard Deathmatch is here, of course, along with Capture the Flag,
Domination, Last Man Standing, and Assault.
But don't for a second be fooled into ignoring Unreal Tournament
because you have no access to a LAN or decent Internet connection.
Many gamers have expressed horror at the thought of 'dumbing-down'
the traditional plot-driven single player FPS experience to merely
playing against a host of bots. Think again.
When you can come up with AI that reaches these kind of heights, you
end up with an experience that beats most single player experiences
in any genre hands down. It may lack the depth of a plot and puzzle
driven FPS, but for sheer white-knuckle arcade excitement I have
scarcely played anything to touch it.
Quite simply
Unreal tournament is one of , or is the best first person 3D shooter
ever made !!!
This is a 2 CD set where the first CD is actually the game. The
second CD contains superior textures for some graphic cards, level
editors and other bits and pieces to fiddle with. So the first CD is
all you really need !!

Soul Reaver is
Tomb Raider with a nasty streak. Your hero has cloven hooves and
wings. His favourite method of execution is impalement. To survive
he has to ingest the souls of the recently dead. If you're in any
way squeamish you should give it a miss new atrocities await
around every corner.
Basically it a great 3D adventure that is unique enough to make it
something special--graphics and the eerieness of the plot make this
a "top" game in just about all respects.
If you like 3D, gore, action, and use the "head" to get ahead (so to
speak) Soul Reaver is a class act and should be on the GET IT list.

318. Rainbow VI--Rogue Spear Review
This follows on
from Rainbow VI--another of Tom Clancy's brilliant action strategy
games--however Rogue Spear takes this even further. The most obvious
improvement in Rogue Spear is the graphics engine, which has been
heavily modified to allow greater levels of detail, larger mission
environments, and better character animations.
Most of the scenarios are simply gorgeous and are amazingly
detailed. Buildings are richly decorated, while outdoor areas are
more lifelike than before. In most indoor areas, even the most
out-of-the-way rooms are highly detailed, complete with random
civilians wandering around in some areas, like a fat guy in a towel
heading to the sauna. Rogue Spear also includes weather effects,
such as snow and rain, which can hamper your ability to see and hear
terrorists.
This is a must for the action adventure player !!

Dark Reign was a
role playing classic !! Move over - Darkstone is here - and it's
great !!
Superb graphics and game play make this a "role playing" gamers -
dream come true.
There are 7 core quests from a possible 22 quests. Monsters and
other nasties abound from swordsmen to vampires !!
Darkstone requires Direct 3D - but used it beautifully to make the
gaming / role playing experience very, very hard to put to bed of a
night.
Well worth the wait - "Top game" in every respect !!

System Shock 2
is a first person (a la Quake, Doom etc) game !
But it is not a traditional first person shooter.
OK you have weapons, and you shoot - but first and foremost System
Shock 2 is an
adventure game of mammoth proportions.
It goes well beyond the Unreal/ Kingpin genre of shoot, shoot more
and keep
shooting.
SS2 has a real plot with real objectives and requires real thinking
!
The game play is absorbing, the graphics are superb, it is fully
optioned - it really is a groundbreaking game that would appeal to
shooters and thinkers alike.
Death Match / internet play patch available on net (So I'm told).
Bottom line is it stands head and shoulders above the rest for a
first person,
adventure, quest kind of game !! Recommended

Dick Johnson V8
Challenge is an action packed racing game using the TORUS
proprietary 3D engine. It features over 25 real touring car drivers
competing on real Australian tracks - Oran Park, Sandown,
Willowbank and the mountain itself; Mt Panorama, Bathurst.
The game features an accurate physics model tuned with the advice
of Dick Johnson and Steven Johnson of Dick Johnson Racing. Opponent
AI cars have been tuned and tested so that each driver takes the
correct approach, gear and speed of each part of the tracks. You
can compete in both a quick race or an entire racing season -
both solo or with some mates - the game features full multiplayer
support.
Probably one of the best things about this program is BATHURST !!
Mt Panorama never looked so good sitting behind the wheel of a big
V8 ! Conrod straight - here I come--fast !

Review
Besides being
the best NASCAR sim ever, it could very well be the best racing
simulation ever.
This game's got it all: action that's hotter than fried chicken
just hauled out of a
Frydaddy, animations cooler than a bottle of brew pulled from a tub
of ice, and bump-and-grind racing that's tastier than a paper bag
full of greasy pork rinds.
If my editors would let me, I'd confine my review to six simple
words: Buy it, and buy it now. The rave reviews really are a fair
comment it really is a top driving game in just about every respect
!!

Castrol Honda Superbike Challenge Review
There are 20
tracks on offer, the first 10 of which will be familiar to players
of the Castrol Honda Superbike Champions simulation released last
year.
One of our criticisms of that game was that for such a
simulation-oriented title it was a pity that there were no 'real'
Superbike tracks to race on.
This time around there are but remember this is not an official
tracks licence, so they have different names.
However, connoisseurs will immediately recognise Leicester (Donington),
USA (Laguna Seca) and Italy (Monza). These circuits are pretty
accurate and are more in tune with the simulation than the rather
arcade-like made-up circuits.
That said, it's a nice touch to be able to drive in an urban circuit
and at night too, this feature adding a dimension that EA's Superbikes
game just doesn't have.
As far as the bike itself goes, Castrol Honda's modelling is more
complex and
realistic than any other bike simulation
If you like to race bikes this program looks great, plays great and
is great to play !!
329. Sports Car GT Review
When you slam
the pedal to the floor and kick one of these high-priced monsters
into first gear, you will feel like you're out on the track bumping
and scraping with the
big boys. The 3D modeling here is so good, so convincing, that
you'll find yourself in a severe fit of road rage when a driver
cuts you off at a curve or some idiot spins
out and blocks that perfect line you'd been following for the last
three laps.
Fans of high-dollar sports cars will find that the menu in Sports
Car GT is enough to set their mouths watering, with cars from BMW, McLaren, Porsche, Panoz, Vector, Mosler, Callaway, Lister, and Ford
(the Saloon Mustang). And the settings are more than good enough
for these fancy entrees - the game boasts world-famous courses such
as MoSport Park, Road Atlanta, Laguna Seca, Donnington, Hockenheim,
and Lime Park, along with a trio of fictional tracks that stand up
pretty well on their own merits
All in all a great program - if you have a need for speed then this
is one top program to get.
