I usually start my reviews by describing the plot of the film, but unfortunately for Biker Boyz, I can't do that. If you've seen Biker Boyz, then you know why I can't reveal the plot. But if you haven't seen it, I'll tell you why I can't reveal it. Are you ready? Here goes. The reason why I can't reveal the plot of Biker Boyz is, because there is no plot. That's right, no plot. All Biker Boyz is is an excuse to show people perform dangerous stunts on motorcycles. It's essentially The Fast And The Furious, minus the plot, on motorcycles. And like The Fast And The Furious Biker Boyz is also based on an article about the street racing subculture. Well, if you haven't stopped reading by now, let's move on.
Available from Dreamworks, Biker Boyz is presented in seperate fullscreen and anamorphic widescreen editions and comes with an english 5.1 Dolby Digital audio track, an english 5.1 DTS Surround audio track, an english 2 channel Dolby Surround audio track and a french 5.1 Dolby Digital audio track. Subtitles are also included in english, french and spanish.
The special features include deleted scenes, "Behind The Action" featurette, cast and crew information, production notes and video trailers.
Hosted by Orlando Jones, who plays Soul Train in the film, "Behind The Action"(20:59) is a behind-the-scenes look at the making of Biker Boyz. It features behind-the-scenes footage and cast and crew interviews. This making of is kind of like the one that is included on The Replacements DVD and is quite enjoyable.
The eleven deleted scenes that are included total 18:02. They don't add anything to the story, like I said there is no story, and after watching the film you might feel like they could of cut a bit more. Among the eleven deleted only two feature racing. One is an actual race and the other is an initiation rite.
This disc also features video trailers for Old School, Head Of State, The Fast And The Furious Tricked Out Edition and Deliver Us From Eva.
The only good things about this DVD are the quality of the transfer and the "Behind The Action" featurette. But if you're in the mood for a racing movie I'd advise you to go with The Fast And The Furious or Gone In Sixty Seconds, either version, any of these two films are way better than Biker Boyz.
