March 27, 1963 was the year that 16 year old,Connie Zastoupil, gave birth to one of the best screenwriters and Directors, Quentin Jerome Tarantino named after the character Quint in Gunsmoke played by Burt Reynolds.
He received his movie education from Carson Twin Cinema, Scottsdale and was later, at the age of 22 became an employee of Video Archives at Manhatten Beach, while training to be an actor in 1980. He continues for six years.
Here he met Roger Avery and spent all day day doing what he loved, discussing films! Even though he still wanted to be an actor, he drop that goal to go for something bigger, directing.
In 1990 Tarantino wrote Reservoir Dogs. January 1991 was the year that we got our first taste of Tarantino, and boy was it a taste! Reservoir Dogs(1992) hit the Sundance Film festival. The writer-Director was a first timer and everyone was shocked. The film reaped critical praise and Tarantino became a legend in England, UK and the cult film circuit.
Three years later, in 1994, the next Tarantino instalment would be Pulp Fiction. This premiered at the Cannes Film Festival, where it won the popular 'Palme D'Or' which is practically equal to the Best Picture at the Academy Awards. At the 94' Academy Awards Pulp Fiction was nominated for Best Picture Oscar, in addition Best Director and Best Screenplay, among others. But Tarantino and his writing partner, Roger Avary, only came away with Best Original Screenplay, and Roger said his now famous line "I gotta go pee".
In 1998 Tarantino directed his Third movie. He rewrote the movie Jackie Brown from the novel 'Rum Punch'. This kind of movie might disappoint fans expecting another Pulp Fiction film. But with actors like Pam Grier, Samuel L Jackson, Robert De Niro and Micheal Keaton what does it matter!
Tarantinos next move is named Kill Bill, staring the likes of Uma Thurman, David Carradine, Daryl Hannah , Lucy Liu , Michael Madsen, other cast not announced yet. Release Date: October 10th, 2003
