Shui Zhen Yin - a middle level manager working at Seoul Hotel. Was previously Tai Quin's girlfriend before he left her 3 years ago. Vivacious and funny, loyal to her beloved hotel. Torn in indecision between Frank and Tai Quin.

Han Tai Quin - general manager of Seoul Hotel. Still has feelings for Zhen Yin but unable to take the first step to recover what they had 3 years ago. Smart and dedicates his entire life to the Seoul Hotel.

Jin Yuin xi - spoiled, lonely, suicidal daughter of a rich businessman. She fell in love with Tai Quin and goes to work in the Seoul Hotel and finally has some purpose in her life.

Chui Rong Qi - son of the Seoul Hotel CEO. Young and impulsive, he falls in love at first sight with Yuin Xi and tries to be a better man for her.

Storyline:

When the Seoul Hotel's CEO passed away, his inexperienced wife asked Shui Zhen Yin to bring back Han Tai Quin from America, who had to leave Korea and Zhen Yin (his girlfriend) three years ago because of a scandal. In Las Vegas, Zhen Yin found Tai Quin, who refused to go back with her. They had a fight, and he left her stranded alone in the desert. She gets lost, and a fancy car came to rescue her, and Zhen Yin met Frank for the first time.

Frank Shin Dong Xian was a business takeover specialist. He was cold and arrogant, with deep emotional wounds from his childhood. Meeting Zhen Yin was like a breath of fresh air in his life. She amused, interested, and intrigued him. So when Yuin Xi's father hired him to come to Seoul to take over the case, Frank accepted it, but his main reason was to see Zhen Yin again.

Back in Korea, Zhen Yin convinced Tai Quin to come back to the hotel. They began again as friends even though both still had feelings for each other. When Frank came to stay at the hotel, Zhen Yin fell in love with his smart wit and gentle kindness. But Zhen Yin was confused, she still had feelings for Tai Quin. Frank promised to wait for her.

Meanwhile, Yuin Xi was a spoiled rich girl who grew up lonely and depressed. Rong Qi fell in love with her at first sight and did all he could to impress her. But Yuin Xi met Tai Quin and fell in love with his kindness and maturity. But Tai Quin still loved Zhen Yin. Yuin Xi went to work at the hotel as a waitress and expressed her love for Tai Quin, which made Zhen Yin jealous.

Frank had been abandoned when he was a boy. He was adopted and raised in America, but he could never let go of the fact that he was unwanted by his own parents. He felt he was unworthy of anyone's love, and yet could not help falling in love with a simple, happy girl like Zhen Yin. When Zhen Yin found out about his intention to take over the hotel, she was hurt and angry and broke up with him. But after a lot of soul-searching, she realized she loved him enough to forgive him for his secrecy.

Frank, meanwhile, had become a different man since he met Zhen Yin. She'd opened his eyes to kindness and friendship and simple happiness. When he found his father again, Frank was so angry at his father for giving him away as a boy, but he soon realized what he'd felt was not hatred, but sadness and regret. He also found his long-lost sister, incidentally Zhen Yin's roommate. With Zhen Yin's help, Frank began to forgive his father, and began a relationship with his newfound sister.

For Zhen Yin, Frank decided to give up the takeover attempt and turned in Yuin Xi's father to the authorities. He gave up everything to be with Zhen Yin. But when he had to leave Korea, Zhen Yin refused to leave with him. She was still confused who she really loved, Tai Quin or Frank. So Frank left alone, but he left an email for Zhen Yin - he told her he loved her and he will not give up, he will wait for the day when they are together again. Zhen Yin rushed to the airport, but Frank was gone.

Yuin Xi also went to America to study Hotel Manegement, but she and Tai Quin still kept in touch. Rong Qi was growing up and learning responsibility. Soon, his mother, the CEO's wife, also passed away. But the hotel's business was doing better than ever.

Meanwhile, Zhen Yin was still pining for Frank. She regretted her stupidity, because now she finally realized her only feelings for Tai Quin was friendship, and the one she really loved was Frank. And when she came to work one day, she saw that Tai Quin had invited Frank back to Korea for a visit. The next day, Tai Quin was leaving with Rong Qi for America to attend a convention, and also to meet Yuin Xi, who was studying there.

Final scene

Zhen Yin walked towards Frank, the look in her eyes saying she was almost afraid to believe he was really there. But the gentle smile in his eyes remained as she came towards him. When they were standing in front of each other, Frank said, "Were you waiting for me? I've been waiting for you, too. Can I check in now?" Zhen Yin asked, "How long are you planning to stay, Mr. Customer?" And Frank answered, smiling gently, "Forever. I would stay with you forever." Finally, happy tears flowed from Zhen Yin's eyes, and they embraced... and Frank closed his eyes as he finally held her again in his arms.

Notes:

Obviously, Frank is the reason I loved this serial so much. He was cold and arrogant, but you can sense the deep loneliness behind his cold cynicism. And it was heartwarming to see how he fell in love with Zhen Yin. Because she was so funny, sweet, and innocent (and also a little foolish), she was unlike any other woman he'd met before. His amusement gradually grew into interest, and then love. And to Frank, she symbolized more than just love. She was also happiness and warmth and life. By his own words, she first showed him what human warmth was like. She opened his heart to kindness and love, and for her, he gave up everything so that he can be with her.

Lessons:

To never let go of a chance at love while you still have it. (1) Tai Quin lost Zhen Yin because he hesitated to confess his feelings, and when he realized he still had feelings for her, Zhen Yin had another man in her heart: Frank. (2) Zhen Yin was confused whom she really loved, and let go of Frank. By the time she realized he was the one she loved, he was gone. But Zhen Yin was lucky - Frank came back for her. Tai Quin, sadly, was not.

Additional (fangirl's) Note:

Actor Bae Yong Jun (who played Frank) was the main reason this serial was such a big hit. Females of all ages are gushing about how handsome and how sweet he is in this serial - which he was. Bae Yong Jun retired two years ago, and this was his comeback movie. Here, he looked more fit, more mature, more handsome. His expression of Frank's feelings, the warm gentleness in his eyes, was simply brilliant.
