Bio - Frankie Burke

Frankie Burke was born Frank Vaselle on June the 6th, 1921 in Brooklyn, NY. As a teen, he sold newspapers and saw his very first James Cagney film. He became an immediate fan and decided to go to Hollywood to get an interview with him. It didnt work out, so he went back home to New York. He later tried again and this time he acquired a job on the vaudeville circuit doing Cagney impressions. He was discovered in 1938 during his act in Las Vegas by a screen scout. His Cagney impressions were the best of the day and it landed him the job on "Angels With Dirty Faces" as the young "Rocky Sullivan" - Cagney playing the older Sullivan. Burke became a Warner Brothers studio contracrt player, making several films in a tough work environment until he left WB in 1940. He made 15 films altogether and completely disappeared from the celebrity circuit altogether in 1941, completely disappearing from the public eye. Whatever happened to him is totally unknown as of this date.
