"F"

These are the movies that begin with the letter "F".

FACE/OFF (1997)
Rating: **1/2
"The concept is an interesting one, but the movie becomes way too drawn-out and a tad too boring."

FACULTY, THE (1998)
Rating: **1/2
"Creepy, enjoyable, and thrilling. One wild ride! It may be average horror fare, but don't let that stop you from having fun with it."

FALLEN (1998)
Rating: **1/2
"It's pretty good, though too long. If some of the more unneccessary scenes had been cut, maybe Fallen wouldn't have fallen as low."

FAMILY MAN, THE (2000)
Rating: ***1/2
"Nicolas Cage is wonderful in this, one of the best Christmas/romantic films I've seen."

FANTASIA (1940)
Rating: ***
"Some truly great animation."

FANTASIA/2000 (1999)
Rating: ***
"Even more beautiful than the original."

FARGO (1996)
Rating: ***1/2
"Wonderfully strange, and with a great balance between hilarious comedic moments and moments of deliciously dark suspense."

FAST AND THE FURIOUS, THE (2001)
Rating: *
"The Slow and the Tedious."

FATAL ATTRACTION (1987)
Rating: ***1/2
"Bunny boiler!"

FATHER OF THE BRIDE (1991)
Rating: ***1/2
"One of the funniest movies I have ever seen."

FATHER OF THE BRIDE PART II (1995)
Rating: ***
"Still funny, but not as funny."

FEARDOTCOM (2002)
Rating: *
"This movie is like Hell put on film, and that's not a good thing. It's like a cheap knockoff of Ringu or The Ring, with bad acting and comical 'scary' moments. Overall, FeardotCom is repulsive trash."

FERRIS BUELLER'S DAY OFF (1986)
Rating: ***
"A funny and often hilarious tale that moves along very smoothly."

FEW GOOD MEN, A (1992)
Rating: ****
"A courtroom drama that moves by swiftly, and where everything is perfect. One of my all-time favorite movies!"

50 FIRST DATES (2004)
Rating: ***
"Adam Sandler's most mature mainstream comedy to date is still dumb, but touching and funny enough to win over even the harshest skeptic. He and Drew Barrymore once again have fantastic chemistry, and the premise (think Memento as a romantic comedy), though farfetched, works very effectively. Any fan of Sandler can not afford to miss this."

FIGHT CLUB (1999)
Rating: *
"This movie sucks so bad, it's an insult to human intelligence."

FINAL DESTINATION (2000)
Rating: **
"It's different, to say the least. And only mildly entertaining, to say the most."

FINDING NEMO (2003)
Rating: ****
"The most beautiful-looking film of all time."

FIST OF FURY (1972)
Rating: **1/2
"Corny and quite funny, but with an actually interesting plot. The fight scenes are extremely enjoyable."

FLATLINERS (1990)
Rating: **1/2
"Some funky crap."

FLINTSTONES, THE (1994)
Rating: ***
"Nice and cartoony."

FLINTSTONES IN VIVA ROCK VEGAS, THE (2000)
Rating: **
"Gazoo wasn't needed in the cartoon, and he's not needed here. Dum-dums."

FLIRTING WITH DISASTER (1996)
Rating: ***
"A dream cast headed by Ben Stiller and Patricia Arquette fall all over themselves and realize their faults in this offbeat, often hilarious somewhat-romantic comedy. That's right...a somewhat-romantic comedy. Trust me, once you see it, you'll admit there's never been a romantic comedy like it."

FLUBBER (1997)
Rating: **1/2
"It's a fun way to waste an hour-and-a-half."

FLY, THE (1986)
Rating: ***1/2
"Chilling and amazing. Be afraid, be very afraid."

FORREST GUMP (1994)
Rating: ****
"By far, this satirical drama is Tom Hanks' best film."

44 MINUTES: SHOOTOUT IN NORTH HOLLYWOOD (2003)
Rating: ***1/2
"Stylish and suspenseful! A rank-A TV movie."

FRAILTY (2001)
Rating: ***
"An original, wonderfully creepy thriller with religious overtones that may or may not offend you."

FREAKY FRIDAY (1977)
Rating: *1/2
"An awful adaptation of the funny book. What's worse is that the screenwriter, Mary Rodgers, wrote the book. Ugh."

FREAKY FRIDAY (2003)
Rating: ***1/2
"Admittedly, this film isn't art, but the reason I rate it so high is that it's first rate, enjoyable entertainment. And really, that's what movies are all about...not how much they look like a French painting in a Spanish artbook hanging in a museum somewhere in Albuquerque."

FREQUENCY (2000)
Rating: ***1/2
"A first-rate science fiction drama."

FRIDAY THE 13TH PART 2 (1981)
Rating: *
"This movie is doused with blood, gore, and chainsaws, and that's it."

FRIGHT NIGHT (1985)
Rating: ***1/2
"Anyone who doubts Roddy McDowall's coolness needs to see this."

FRIGHT NIGHT PART 2 (1989)
Rating: **
"I doubt Roddy McDowall's coolness. Let me go watch the first one again."

FRIGHTENERS, THE (1996)
Rating: ***1/2
"A pre-Lord of the Rings Peter Jackson knows how to have fun, and keeps the supernatural action rollin'."

FROM DUSK TILL DAWN (1996)
Rating: **1/2
"This Quentin Tarantino-scripted horror movie starts off so strongly that one feels totally let-down when it folds over as soon as the vampires show up. The entire section with the vampires is weaker than it should've been, but the final battle and the last scene hold up pretty well."

FROM DUSK TILL DAWN 2: TEXAS BLOOD MONEY (1999)
Rating: **
"Just like the original, I really wanted to like this direct-to-video sequel. However, the fangs don't bite hard enough, as there's no great first half like in the first to buoy the disappointment, and the final battle is rather weak, especially when it uses a poor, poor excuse to keep the night going. It'll drain the viewer, but not of blood...of energy. I did like that last scene, though."

FROM DUSK TILL DAWN 3: THE HANGMAN'S DAUGHTER (2000)
Rating: *1/2
"I've pretty much given up the hope that this lackluster horror series will get any better. This third (and probably last) installment, which is an Old West prequel, lacks any of the bite that the first two had, and though it introduces the vampires that eventually wreak havoc in 1996, it's just dull. I wasn't scared and I rarely laughed, but I sure did yawn a lot. However, just like in the others, I liked the very last scene."

FROSTY RETURNS (1992)
Rating: ***
"A very cute, though highly unusual, zany modern Christmas tale that provides perfect family entertainment!"

FROSTY THE SNOWMAN (1969)
Rating: ***
"Touching, delightful, and charming. I never expected so much from a TV cartoon!

FUGITIVE, THE (1995)
Rating: ****
"One of the greatest, most exciting action flicks of all time!"
