Ever since we discovered Estes Park, we've been in love with the area and anytime
Time to..................
we have a free moment, we're off on another adventure!
Quite often, we'll incorporate a few of our favorite places into
our trip to Estes, as we did on this one, so get comfy and enjoy our day with us!
The road to Estes Park is so beautiful! Once you're coming
into Estes, you decend into a valley with the beautiful
snow capped mountains greeting you!
As usual, our two furry kids contentedly sit in the back
seat watching the scenery pass by. They know there's lots,
of frolicking and fun ahead! Can't you just see it on their faces?
At last, we reach the long awaited sign!
One spot we're bound to stop at eventually is this "Dog Park".
It was fun watching all the dogs enjoy themselves as we drove by.
They were running to and from on the shore of this lake.
THE STANLEY....is where the movie "The Shinning" was filmed!
They say it's haunted and have tours as well. We plan on
getting a room there on our next anniversary!
Here we are at our favorite picnic spot, right across from the river.
After enjoying some quiet time, Ken starts our dinner!
In the meantime, Chelsea settles down with a book while Molly
keeps her company, waiting on the long anticipated hike!
Ken's an all around great cook but we specially LOVE his cookouts!
This day he grilled chicken & barbecued beans in a can.
We also had a cold pasta salad & assorted appetizers on hand.
We always come upon so many new sights, sounds and critters.
Here is a new bird we'd never seen before. It almost looked
like a cross between a Morning Dove & Blue Bird!
I'm thinking we should begin a 'bird journal' to keep track of them all!
The hardest part was waiting for our food to be done because
we all anticipate the hikes we take afterwards!
The river is located across the road, behind our van.
It's so nice to sit there among the trees smelling the pines and hearing the river bubbling!
