Dominic Monaghan as Meriadoc Brandybuck of Buckland

Dominic Monaghan set in the role of Merry is fairly new to the world of film. His only previous notable appearances are Hetty Wainthrop Investigates and British TV programme. When he found out that he had received the role of Merry he was in France, filming for a film in which he had gained the lead in.

Merry

Merry is one of Frodo's best friends, but as he grows worried about Frodo after Bilbo disappears he forms a conspiracy to stop Frodo leaving without him and his other hobbit friends. In the end Merry (along with Pippin and Sam) travel with Frodo to destroy the One Ring, but troubles seperate them and their tasks become quite different.
