Originally written as a story for his children, The Hobbit is the foundation for which The Lord of the Rings is based on.

A hobbit, Bilbo Baggins of the Shire, lived in a nice cosey hobbit hole in Hobbiton. That was, of course, until Gandalf the wizard came along and Bilbo became caught up in an adventure with 13 dwarves!

They must travel to the Lonely Mountain, beyond Mirkwood, where Smaug the Dragon sits upon a huge pile of gold and riches once made by the dwarves.Bilbo has many adventures as he journeys, with Goblins and Elves and giant spiders. But Gandalf is not always there to help them, and the quest seems uncertain. Will the dwarves and one hobbit be able to get the gold back? Or are there more problems than just a dragon?
