John Rhys-Davies as Gimli son of Gloin, under the Mountain.

John Rhys-Davies, is most known to be the side-kick of Harrison Ford. Orignally auditioning for the part of Denethor, John was amazed when he was asked to reaudition for the part of Gimli the Dwarf. He landed the part and has played him excellently.

Gimli son of Gloin prooved to be a worthy member of the Fellowship after he joined at the Council of Elrond. He was hardy and can take much toil without becoming tired. He was sent to the Council of Elrond when a 'messenger' from Sauron the Dark Lord visits his colony at the Lonely Mountain. The Messenger said that Sauron was seeking a 'least of Rings' a 'mere trifle that he fancies' and that he would give back to the dwarves one of the 7 Rings that was given to them of old.
