The books: without what Tolkien wrote there would be no 'LOTR' movies, or anything. So those of you sitting there who have not read the books, I suggest you scuttle off and go get a copy of The Hobbit and then The Lord of the Rings.

If not for Tolkien and his fantastic imagination I doubt that many 'fantasy' books would be around. He was really the first person to do that sort of thing. He believed that England had no mythology unlike Northern Europe, so he wrote a Myth. Middle-earth and everything in it, from the immortal elves to the Ents he created it. Everytime I read his books, I find it hard to figure out how all of it could have come out of a man's head! How could one man create a whole history for a world?

Even though this is a Boromir site really, I try to incorporate as much Middle-earthness as I can. I hope that in time this section of the site will become the most important and interesting one.
