So who the hell is Benno Furmann? He was the haunted actor in Tom Twyker's The Princess and the Warrior. Who the hell is Tom Twyker and what's The Princess and the Warrior? Well, Mr. Twyker is the director/creator of a movie starring Franka Potente, otherwise known as that red-headed girl from Run Lola Run or that girl who was in that movie with the guy who's Ben Affleck's friend, you know, the one with the big smile who was Good Will somebody. Anyway, Franka Potente made another movie with Lola's director Twyker called The Princess and the Warrior, which also starred Benno Furmann.

More recently, you can still catch Benno in The Order with Heath Ledger at your local Blockbuster/ Hollywood/video store of choice.

So why should you care? Well, if you've watched the movie you know why. Stunning, inspired and mesmerizing aren't words enough to describe German native Furmann. And my aim here is to be one of the first, if in fact only, American based fansite for this tremendous rising star to spread the word, sound the bells, and yell it from the rooftops- YOU NEED TO WATCH THIS ACTOR! That, and I want that self-satisfied feeling that when he becomes a regular at the box office stateside that I was there before the groundswell.

Aside from being quite a looker as well, I really know nothing much about Benno save for what I can glean from various bits and pieces I've rummaged around for on the internet. I'm compiling that information here for you, the Benno novice, so you can educate, ogle, or just avoid the fact that you do not know German and can't read the other fansites out there (unless you can read German and are therefore front runner for being my personal translator when I have two coins to rub together and can pay you).

Just for kicks... I took part of an interview Benno had done regarding his role in The Princess & The Warrior and fed it through one of those online translators. Here's the result- it's just bizarre!

Question: What provoked you at this role?

Benno Fuermann: I found it very exciting to play humans who are at swimming, to that permanently pedal musss, in order not to go down. I wanted to fathom this Bodo for me. Only because happen to a few things in a certain succession, thereby its whole conception of the world, all feelings and the self feeling from the course are thrown so. Suddenly everything is completely different and one musss the parts slowly again to a whole one joins. Happens not only in the cinema, but also in the life. I find so extreme roles fascinating!
