Benicio Del Toro

Benicio Del Toro was born on february 19, 1967 in
San German , PR to attorney parents Gustavo Del Toro
and Fausta Sanchez - Del Toro. However he
spent most of his childhood in Santurce, PR. At just
13 years old Benicio moved to the United states
to attend the Mercersburg Academy, a boarding school
located in Mercersburg, Pennsylvania.

As an adult Benicio attended UC San Diego to pursue a
career as an attorney while living on the dream of
being a artist. He later changed his major to acting
in order to lighten his work load and make things
go easier. But little did Benicio know that he would
discover a great passion and decide to drop out of
school to pursue acting full time and move to
New York city. There he studied at The Circle In the
Sqaure Theatre school. And had the privilidge of winning
a scholarship to work with the Late Great Stella Adler
at The Stella Adler Conservatory of Acting where
he studied for four years.

Benicio moved back to Los angeles and after two years
of dragging his feet on the hot hollywood pavement,
he won a role on the hit T.V. show Miami vice.
Afterwards winning the starring role in the play Orphans.
At that time the casting director for James Bond's
License to kill saw him and asked him to audition for
a role in which Benicio soon won.

Since then Benicio Del Toro's film career has flourished,
being cast in such films as The usual Suspects , artists
Julian Shnabels film Basquiat and taking one of
the lead roles in fear and loathing in Las Vegas,
a performance which I myself consider to be one
of his best.

Benicio has also been greatly appreciated many times
in the hollywood eyes by a wide array of award
nominations and wins. His latest being a golden globe
for best supporting actor in a dramatic film for his
performance in Traffic in which he played a
Mexican police officer.

Benicio Takes his film career very seriously and is
willing to go to great links to make his roles the
absolute best. Such as gaining a wopping 45 pound for his role as
Dr. Gonzo in fear and loathing and riding along with
the Mexican police for his role in Traffic. He even shaved his
hairline and thinned his eye brows for the character
Fenster in The usual Suspects. There is no doubt in the
mind of hollywood or in the mind of myself that
Benicio Del Toro is going to take his magic carpet to the ultimate.
And make the walking ground of southern California his own.
All I can say to Benicio , is break a leg, I have been
watching since the beggining and will stick around
until it never ends.
