"8 pounds 9 ounces." Benji announced coming into the waiting room. He'd
taken off the gown over his scrubs and the cap off his head but was still
wearing the booties over his chucks. "19 inches."
"Boy or girl?" Adriana asked eagerly.
"A baby girl."
"Awwwwwwwwwwwww" Everyone cooed and grinned at Benji.
I stood up and gave my brother a hug.
"Benj, you're a dad." I congradulated.
He hugged me back. "It's awesome. You gotta see
her…she's…sooooooo…amazing."
"I bet."
"No, Joel she really is. She's like…"
"Dude, I know." I laughed.
"No, but Joel she's…"
"Gorgeous, I know, can we see her?"
"Oh, uh, I dunno…you can look in the nursery."
LzyBrunette (5:36:34 pm): He motioned his neck and led the way. We all followed like
Benji was a prophet and we were the disciples. We reached the large glass
windows. There were very few babies inside. All of them boys with odd jewish
names like Stein, Locke, reitman. The last baby warmer was the only girl and
had soft pink blankets. A little pink and white card stuck out and MADDEN was
scrawled with a marks-a-lot.
You couldn't see her very well. She was small, smaller than Sam, and she kept
kicking and waving her little arms about. We all cooed and talked about how
cute she was and Benji just looked SO proud.
Another guy came up to the window with what looked like his brother or
something. He started pointing out his kid and talking about him. not missing
a beat, Benji saw an opportunity to show off.
"Which one's your's?" he asked.
"That one, Stein." The guy pointed.
"Oh, you have a boy." Benji smirked.
"What about you?"
"The little girl is mine." Benji grinned. "Madden."
"Oh, she's cute." He smiled oddly at Benji.
"yeah, she is." Benj nodded. "She looks like her mom."
"ok." The guy didn't understand Benji's trip. "is she your first?"
Benji nodded.
LzyBrunette (5:37:00 pm): "Oh, he's my 7th." And then he walked away leaving Benji
speechless.
He walked back over to me. "Dude, that guy has 7 kids. THAT guy, did you
look at him? somebody sleeps with that guy?"
"Somebody sleeps with you." I pointed out and Benj hit me.
he grabbed his arm in pain and winced. I wasn't used to seeing Benji so…weak.
He was my big brother, he didn't get hurt. It was an odd role reversal where I
was the stronger one.
"Benj…" I asked concerned.
"Don't, stop, Joel. I'm fine." He snapped and dropped his arm.
Seems like he was gonna be macho about this, but I was worried. Once Jessa
noticed his fatigue and aches and pains she was gonna be too.
"Uh, Ben-ji?" a large black man in purple scrubs approached us. he had a
nametag with little bear stickers on it that read "Brant."
"Yeah?"
"We're taking your daughter in with your wife, so if you…"
"I'm coming." Benji smiled. "My DAUGHTER!" he repeated and followed Brant.

from jessa so fast...or does it....???
