These are my personal views and opinions as I see it about this game system:
ps3, The Good, The Bad and The Ugly Features
1. Launch will be Spring '07 Disagree? There are some articles saying different things out there.
2. Horrible controller. Or Great controller design? That controller is gonna be sweet. You just wait, it will be perfect. Funny how people remark on the look of the controller, when it will obviously be pretty comfortable.
3. the "cell" architecture.
developers dont want to use it. they like directx much better. its the standard for making games.
4. ps3 was not delayed so that sony could perfect it. actually its delayed because they are having massive issues with the "cell" processor and the developer kits actually over heated and melted. back to square one!
5. Sony doesn't have a global online service, they just throw an ethernet port on the console and leave the rest up to the developer. every single xbox 360 game has xbox LIVE built into it.
6. The videos you saw and thought were gameplay aren't actually gameplay. The public has not seen any working PS3 console yet or PS3 gameplay.
7. Hideo Kojima (creator of Metal Gear Solid) said the Xbox 360 could handle all of the games currently being made for the PS3.
8. rediculous price. easy over $500: The only problem is with the Cell, the controller is great, but the cell is what's going to drive the price through the roof, that and blu-ray i guess. Oh and Sony has a tendancy to make overpriced junk, their electronics don't have a tendancy to last anymore.
What about nintendo,i think people who own the Xbox 360 or playstation 3 will buy the nintendo revolution also.:
See, I'm betting the real winner this round will be Nintendo. The console is going to be very cheap, so Sony and MS supporters alike won't hesitate to pick one up. So while MS and Sony only have half the market to each other, Nintendo will be able to sneak in and get a majority.
Of course, this requires them to have a good library of games, which they haven't announced yet. If they make a knockout appearance at this year's E3, the rev's going to be a real winner.
