Lyrics of Anilda's Punjabi Song -

I had planned to make this post 2-3 days after posting the
Hindi version's lyrics but after reading Sreenivas
Paruchuri's follow-up, I have decided not to wait.

The film Alibaba was made in Hindi and Punjabi in 1940 by
Sagar Movietone. Anil Biswas composed music for both the
versions. The song 'terii in aa.Nkho.n ne kiyaa biimaar
haay' had a counterpart in Punjabi version : 'chubh gaye
kaleje vich nainaa.n de tiir haae'. Similar meaning,
similar tune. And same singers : Wahidan and Surendra.

The Punjabi version can be accessed at anilbiswas-dot-com
for a week or so starting today. The task of iTrans'ing
its lyrics was taken upon his ample shoulders by
Tarz... er... Hercules Surjit Singh.

The opening piece of the Punjabi song lacks the
captivating brilliance of its Hindi counterpart. The Hindi
version was applied better finishing touches. But even the
Punjabi version is enjoyable and, being a Punjabi song
composed by Anilda, it is a statistical rarity.
