Ridout House 120 Duke of Gloucester Street, Annapolis John Ridout, Maryland Secretary to Governor Horatio Sharpe, built his Georgian home and garden circa 1765. He added three adjacent houses, the first row houses in Annapolis. In the 1780s, Ridout owned a cargo of slaves that included Alex Haley's ancestor Kunta Kinte.
