A BRIEF RECOLLECTION...

Thanks for taking an interest in me! I'll start by telling you a little about where I'm from. I was born in Manchester, New Hampshire to a long line of actors, singers and entertainers. From an early age I had everyone telling me that I was born with a gift, but it took me a while to figure out what that gift was. I actually started acting in kindergarten. The funny thing is that I've been acting all of my life, but up until recently I never even considered making a career out of it!

When I was in first grade, I started programming computers in basic languages. I thought I wanted to be a programmer. I made all sorts of games, and gave them to my teachers and friends to play. I've always had a special place in my heart for creating programs and I always will - but it turned out to get a little too boring for a kid to want to do for the rest of his life.

Later on in life I considered tons of different jobs. I though it would be cool to be a cattle auctioneer, an architect, a chef, a martial arts instructor, an FBI agent, a US Marshal, and tons of other things. Through all of my considerations, one thing remained constant - my involvement in the school and community theatre. To me it was something my family had always done, and since I enjoyed it I just went along like it was my duty.

Then in high school something happened to change my life forever. I was performing in a production of "Ah, Wilderness!" (a Eugene O'neil play) as the alcoholic Uncle Sid. After a certain scene's performance on a very special night, I made my exit. No sooner had I left the stage when I heard a large roaring sound coming from the audience. I peeked out from behind the stage right wing, and saw the entire crowd applauding - some people had tears streaming down their faces. Everyone was standing and I could tell that somehow magic had taken place that night - I had managed to tap into the heart and soul of every member of the audience! To make it even more confusing for me, I didn't have the slightest recollection of what I had done to recieve such a powerful reaction. I knew only one thing that night - that I would somehow make this my profession.

It would be four years and a tour through the Army (my family wasn't the richest and I needed college money) later that I would begin to make my dream a reality. In college I met my beautiful girlfriend, Tamara. After dating for a while, we decided to live together. She convinced me it would be a good idea to go to a modeling school, so we signed up with a good school in Boston, Massachusetts. From there, things sorta happened at a fast pace. I was selected to go to an international talent competition in Los Angeles.

I came to California with dreams and hopes. The competition didn't go as well as I had expected, but I was able to catch the attention of a talent manager who went crazy over a monologue I performed for him. He told me what I needed to hear to get my butt out here - unfortunately, I'll leave it by saying that he didn't really do what he said he would, even though I had achieved everything he asked of me. Two weeks after he told me to move out here, Tamara and I had packed all of our belongings and said our good-byes to as many friends and family as we could.

This is where I'm at now. My manager turned out not to do what he told me he would, so I terminated the contract with him. I'm in the process of meeting with different people, and I figure I'll be more careful about who I sign with in the future. It's tough, though, being a lifelong theatre actor from the sticks of New Hampshire trying to break into the heart of what I now see to be the cutthroat industry of film and television entertainment. One thing is sure to me now - the more obstacles I face on my way to the top, the more my tenacity is fueled. I have the heart, desire and motivation to be a star, and I won't accept "no" from Hollywood.
