CPS Reform
Home

* * *

  • CPS must be required to provide "reasonable efforts" to keep families together, unless there is a real (ie provable) and immediate risk that the child be seriously injured or sexually abused.

    * * *

  • The accused must be innocent until proven guilty. Do away with the CPS theory of "guilty until proven innocent".

  • Purposefully false accusations must be made criminal.

  • The accused must be allowed to face their accusers, as is their constitutional right.

    * * *

  • There must be public oversight over CPS caseworkers and CPS proceedings.

  • CPS caseworkers must NOT be protected by immunity for any lies told to the court or entered into case files.

  • Mandate that all caseworkers (including existing caseworkers) “pass” a psychological screening exam.

  • Require sensitivity training for caseworkers to trauma caused by forcible separation of children from their families. .
