ooh yeah, life goes on.

it's really incredible how much changes but some things will just always be the same.

on the list for tomorrow: Christmas letters to my Mormon friends abroad, looking into getting a passport.

big sigh.

first day home

made it home to fresno safely. burned my tongue on some hot chocolate in the car, but i'm dealing.

TOOK A BATH- that was really nice.

fought with rachel, surprise surprise. amazing how even after a semester of tremendous emotional maturity i can feel like a 6 year old after 15 minutes in the presence of my big sister. ggrrrrr.

but, it's REALLY foggy and cold here, and that makes me happy. and our christmas tree is up. time to get to bed (it's 11:30- that's amazing) so i can get cracking on my Christmas Break To-Do list bright and early tomorrow! i'll be sure to keep you posted.

when you lose something you cannot replace
a very emotional last RO rehearsal of the semester.
we'll miss you, jordan.

When you try your best but you don't succeed
When you get what you want but not what you need
When you feel so tired but you can't sleep
Stuck in reverse

And the tears come streaming down your face
When you lose something you can't replace
When you love someone but it goes to waste
Could it be worse?

Lights will guide you home
And ignite your bones
And I will try to fix you

And high up above or down below
When you're too in love to let it go
But if you never try you'll never know
Just what you're worth

Lights will guide you home
And ignite your bones
I will try to fix you

Tears stream down on your face
When you lose something you cannot replace
Tears stream down on your face
And I..

Lights will guide you home
And ignite your bones
And I will try to fix you.

turns out the toe is NOT broken, but sprained or nerve-pinched or something of that nature. it hurts and it's hard to walk down stairs.

this blog is a shameless procrastination endeavor. i am supposed to be writing about Tikopian culture, but so far, the Tikopians have yet to really grab my attention.

what a great thanksgiving, eh? i've never been so happy to see friends from high school. really good times.

EMILY, YOU'RE LAME! WRITE YOUR PAPER!

ok.

what a lovely evening. so lovely, that i shall imortalize it by writing about it in this electronic "web log" that i have for so long neglected to update.

first, a delicious barbequed meal at the RO house courtesy of jordan and reid. love those boys.

then, Spiked Heels, a USC student production, which was impressive and highly enjoyable.

on to Westwood for the popping of my Diddy Riese cherry. two cookies sandwiching ice cream for $1?? sold.

highlight of the evening: approximately 50 minutes of spontaneous dancing on a corner in Westwood. from the charleston to square to salsa to improv circle dancing, we covered it all. and made a spectacle of ourselves.

happy. even though i have to do homework tomorrow.

oh yeah COME SEE REVERSE OSMOSIS and all the other acappella groups on MONDAY at 930 p.m., VKC arches!

i got a raise at work!

p.s. this blog may or may not consist of "insignificant" details of my life from this point forward. watch for updates on my schoolwork, recent Ralph's purchases, and noteworthy bowel movements.

Oh no,love just leaves you bruised
If you want to know, you find something to lose
The world won't turn until something breaks
Who will make the first last mistake?
They say that good things come to those who wait

Into the spiral, your world and my world,it's never final
Love just leaves you bruised

Oh no,did love just leave you screwed?
You gotta go slow
'Cause love just leaves you bruised

I went because you said you'd be there
A box of candy, smoke in your hair
I didn't know,I didn't care
But now I know
Love just leaves you bruised
And I've got the scars to prove it

I went because you said you'd be there
A box of candy, smoke in your hair
Explain it to me again and again
Like I care
Love just leaves you..

The world won't turn until something breaks
Who will make the first last mistake?
Good things come to those who wait
Well I can't wait

I went because you said you'd be there
A box of candy smoke in your hair
I didn't know,I didn't care
But now I know

p.s. i just saw Ben Folds and Ben Lee play at the Renaissance Hotel- poolside- for a few fans. it was free, and i was 5 feet away from them. no big deal. see http://community.webshots.com/user/eroellke for proof.

in honor of the first 100+ degree day of heat in the greater Fresno County area, the air conditioner in my house decided to break. furthermore, the repairs needed will take at least a week to complete, a process that will most likely culminate in our purchasing an entire new unit, upwards of $4,000.
i

am

melting.

great timing, too, with my entire extended family coming to my house for the 4th of july, and my dad and sister out of town until sunday, leaving me with my hysterical mother (god love her) trying to ready our house for the company which is exceedingly difficult when you can SEE the air in front of your face and you slip out of the kitchen chairs because you are SO SWEATY! we camped out in the living room, which was pretty fun, so that we could aim the swamp cooler on our patio in through the window and manage to get some sleep. just take my word for it... AC should be written into the Bill of Rights.

if anyone is looking for a roommate next semester, my friend Annie Roach is looking for lodging. she's desperate so any leads would be much appreciated! she's awesome: http://usc.thefacebook.com/profile.php?id=3402084
let me know or drop her a line if you know of anything.

Mood:  surprised
someone stole the tires off of my car last night. i don't even know what to think. i don't think i knew you could do that. i'm strangely calm about this, just a little bewildered. jerks.
