Spider Anatomy
A spider's body is divided into two main segments, the head section or cephalothorax and the abdomen. The head section has 12 appendages: a pair of pedipalps to grasp prey, a pair of fang like chelicerae to tear food apart, and 8 legs. Most spiders have four pairs of simple eyes. Jumping spiders have highly developed eyesight for judging distances before they jump.
