Ookami Kenryu Special Techniques

Gatotsu
Left-Handed Thrust
Itto

First off, let me say this is not an original technique but was derived from Saitou Hajime's left handed thrust by Watsuki for Ruroni Kenshin before I confundled it into a practical technique. Well, its come to my attention that alot of people have just as little of a life as me and have confundled their own version the Gatotsu also, never the less I shall still describe the Ookami version.

First, you switch the sword to your left hand, gripping very close to the end of the tsuka, or hilt. Pull your left leg to the rear and stand side ways. Bring the sword up to your head pointing forward, ha out so that the blade is horizontal and bring your right hand to the end. At this point you are simply aiming the attack and sizing up your opponent. Maybe say something cool or scary, this move has alot to do with attitude! When you're actually ready to attack, bring your right hand out in front of you bend your knees into a crouch and charge forward. As you approach your target raise the sword and stab when your extended right arm is a sword length from the target. Snap your shoulder forward and step with your left foot as you stab so it becomes a lunge and there is enough distance to protect you from counter strikes. Be sure to aim for a weak spot, especially if your opponent is armored. This is where it gets a little tricky, after the stab its natural instinct to just stop, but be sure to follow through with the right foot and let your right arm trail out behind you as you slide to a stop. If the target manages to dodge the initial strike, which should be difficult because of your speed, the stab can easily be turned into a horizontal strike because the blade has remained horizontal this whole time. If your target somehow survives or you are fighting multiple foes immediately return your right hand to the tsuka and drop to a defensive stance and prepare to continue battle. Otherwise shake and sheath in your prefered manner (the Ookami style uses the Muso Shinden Ryu o-chiburi and noto).

Yamanekosougi
Wildcat Strike
Itto

This is Ookami Kenryu's first original special and is actually a combo reminiscent of Iaijutsu since it starts and ends with the sword sheathed. However, you may need to use this when your sword is already drawn and continue afterwards. In that case, start and\or end in Second with your right foot back.

The Wildcat Strike begins with the sword sheathed in the belt, the feet together and the left hand on the saya close to the tsuba. As you prepare to strike the left thumb pushes the tsuba to loosen the sword in the saya. Simultaneously, the right hand grasps the tsuka near the tsuba and the right foot steps back, the knees bending slightly. The first strike is a horizontal bottoujutsu cut, the sword is drawn in the same movement as the strike with the Ha pushing against the inside of the saya, which you rotate slightly to the left. The tip of the blade is not allowed to be released from the saya until the last possible moment, in which you step forward with the right foot and use the extra built up pressure in the saya to assist the straight horizontal cut. This strike, known to Iaido and Battoujutsu as Nuki Tsuke should aim to slice the opponents stomach. Without shifting your feet, move the sword to Third. From here you make three vertical forward strikes, stepping the rear foot forward with each strike. On the third, follow through so that the blade makes a full path and ends up next to your left leg. Shift the blade to Quartes, once again keeping your feet the same. Here's the tricky part, ste4pping with the right foot, perform a heavy upward cut, it should enter at about waist heigh un exit just below the armpit. As it leaves the opponent, start to turn your waist to the right and pivot on your right leg, stepping your right foot so that you are now turned around. While you turn, the sword continues its path until its over your head, slightly higher than in Prime. When you are facing completely opposite the target is when the sword should reach its highest point. Continuing to pivot on the right leg, step again with the left, making a complete spin to face the target again. As soon as you can see te target in this spin, cut downwards again, this cut should enter the shoulder near the neck and exit just above the hip. At this point the left foot should be forward and the sword should be down by your right leg. Once again switch to Quartes and cut strongly upwards then an almost horizontal diagonal cut in one swift motion leaving your feet set, ending with the blade extending straight out to your right, wrist down. Take a moment and make sure the opponent is defeated (wait, if he keeps attacking, keep fighting). Then return the left hand to the saya and perform chiburi. Pull the right foot forward next to the left and perform noto.
