By – Laws:

1. Code of Ethics:

1.1 Royal New South Wales Canine Council Ltd (RNSWCC) 1.1.1 That the RNSWCC Code of Ethics be automatically incorporated into the Club’s code.

2. Standard:

2.1 FCI Adoption: 2.1.1 That the Club support the National recommendations and adopt the FCI standard as Country of Origin or Development.

3. Club Meetings:

3.1 Timings:

3.1.1 The Club hold its General Meetings and Committee Meetings bi-monthly beginning January – General Meeting.

3.1.2 All future meetings of the Club be held on the 3rd Wednesday of each month at Hillsborough Dog Showgrounds at 6.30pm. (Amended 5/08)

4. Shows and Trials:

4.1 Point Score:

4.1.1 Point Score System to be as follows:
All-Breeds Shows: Attendance 1 point, 1st in Class – 3 points, 2nd in Class – 2 points, 3rd In Class – 1 point, Opposites – 1 point, Challenge – 2 points, Res Challenge – 1 point, BOB – 2 points & RUBOB – 1 point.
Specialty Shows: Attendance – 2 points, 1st in Class – 6 points, 2nd in Class – 5 points, 3rd In Class – 4 points, 4th in Class – 3 points, 5th in Class – 2 points, 6th in Class – 1 point, Opposites – 2 points, Challenge – 4 points, Res Challenge – 2 points, BOB – 4 points, RUBOB – 2 points. Puppy points accumulated in the point score year up to the age of 12 Months will carry over to Adult Classes less the points accumulated under 6 months.
Sashes awarded for Overall Winner, Top Dog, Top Bitch, Overall Puppy Winner, Top Puppy Dog & Top Puppy Bitch. In the event of a tie Puppy--Dual Winners Adult--No Dual Winners---Count back System All breeds and Specialty Shows are combined for one point score competition.

4.1.2 Breeder in Show (Specialty Shows only) as follows:
1st in Class – 6 points, 2nd in Class – 5 points, 3rd in Class – 4 points, 4th in Class - 3 points, 5th in Class – 2 points 6th in Class – 1 point. 3 extra points awarded for each V Rating.(Amended 11/01)

4.1.3 In order for a dog or bitch to be eligible for point score all registered owners must be financial members of the Club except for the Sieger and Siegerin competitions.

Amendment passed March 03--- For dogs / bitches registered in dual ownership / partnership
a) one owner / partner must be a financial member of the club
b) the dog / bitch must permanently reside at that financial members address

4.2 Show Expenses:

4.2.1 When any money is given out for Show expenses to a member, a full itemized statement together with receipts and any money left over be presented within one month of the Show to the Treasurer.

4.3 Shows:

4.3.1 For all Championship Shows the Club contracts an FCI Breed Specialist judge.

4.3.2 The September Show be one Show over two days.

4.3.3 The colours burgundy & white to be used for the sashes/rosettes for the two Championship Shows.

4.5 Judges Contracts:

4.5.1 All judges contracted by the Club are to have their accommodation arranged by the Club at a commercially operated premises that is situated within a 30 minute radius of the showground. Any variance to this arrangement is to be passed at a full meeting of the Club by the General Membership.

4.5.2 The length of stay at the commercially operated premises is to be for the duration of the contracted judging period.

4.5.3 All events (official or social) involving he contracted judge within the contracted judging period are to be arranged and or approved by the Committee of the Club.

4.5.4 Transportation to and from the show and or social events is to be approved by the Committee of the Club.

4.5.5 Items 4.5.1 to 4.5.3 are to be acknowledged by the judge within the judging contract.

4.5.6 Any breech of the requirements within 4.5 will result in disciplinary action in terms of clauses 21, 25, 26 & 27 of the Club’s Constitution.

4.6 Sieger/Siegerin Competition:
4.6.1 Held annually in conjunction with the Rottweiler Club of NSW Inc over the 4 (four) combined Specialty Shows.

4.6.2 Open to all dogs and bitches 18 months and over (members & non-members).

4.6.3 Points awarded as follows:
1st in Class – 6 points, 2nd in Class – 5 points, 3rd In Class – 4 points, 4th in Class – 3 points, 5th in Class – 2 points, 6th in Class – 1 point, V Rating – 1 point, Challenge – 2 points, Res Challenge – 1 point

4.6.4 If there are dogs and bitches on equal points the one that has the most Challenges wins, if still equal most Res Challenges wins, if still equal the most 1st places wins. If still equal joint winners will be awarded.

4.6.5 Trophies for this competition are not to go out of state.

5. General Matters:

5.1 Secretary:

5.1.1 The Club Secretary is to have a float of $50 (fifty) for petty cash which is to be reconciled every month.

5.2 Litter Notices:

5.2.1 Breeders must notify the Club of all litters whelped, within 21 (twenty-one) days. This must be done via a litter notification form and must be accompanied by photocopies of the HD, ED results, Eye & Mouth Certificates for Sire & Dam. It is then at the discretion of the Breeder whether or not they wish to advertise the litter through the Club via the Breed Recorder. It is the responsibility of the Breeder to advise the Club as puppies are sold. Once the puppies reach 8 (eight) weeks of age the litter will be taken off the Club referral books unless the breeder advises the Breed Recorder every 2 (two) weeks that they still have pups for sale.

5.2.2 The fee for Litter Notifications be increased to $30.

5.2.3 When there are no litter notifications on the Club’s books, a list of Club Breeders and phone numbers be given out so that purchasers have reputable breeders to talk to rather than going outside the Club.

5.2.4 A new Member is not permitted to advertise any litter or Stud dog through the Club until such time that they are in their second continuous term of membership (i.e.) have been a member for a minimum of 13 (thirteen) continuous months with the exception of transferring from another Rottweiler Club and have been a continuous member there for 12 (twelve) months.

5.3 Blank

5.4 By-laws Publication:

5.4.1 The Club’s By-laws be published and distributed to Members on request.

5.4.2 All relevant Club and Committee decisions be published in the Bone.

5.5 National Rottweiler Council (Australia) [NRC(A)]

5.5.1 The Club purchase the HD register and subsequent updates from the NRC(A).

5.5.2 If a NRCA delegate is showing dogs at a show where a NRC(A) meeting is being held, the Club does not have to reimburse for airfares. However any out of pocket expenses such as taxi fares to the meeting etc will be paid by the Club.

5.6 Advertising:

5.6.1 Advertising be reinstated to ensure puppy buyers are aware of the Club.

5.7 Hereditary Diseases Schemes:

5.7.1 The Club accept any HD result submitted to the Club which has been scored by any AVA accredited panelist. In regards to overseas dogs, they must conform with the scheme in place in their country of residence.

5.7.2 In order to breed from any Rottweiler it must conform to the following:
(a) be free of any disqualifying breed faults;
(b) provide Eye and Mouth Certificates signed by a Veterinary Surgeon;
(c) provide x-ray results, read by an accredited AVA panelist and be within the following limits;
(i) no individual hip score can be greater than 12 (twelve) for dogs x-rayed on or after 1/1/2001;
(ii) not be bred with a partner where the combined breeding score is greater than 20 (Note: appeals can be made to the Committee if a breeder wishes to breed above this breeding pair figure);
(iii) all Rottweilers whelped after 1/6/1997 must provide x-ray results for elbows as well as hips.

5.7.3 Grades are not utilized in the evaluation of whether or not the dog or bitch is suitable for breeding.

5.8 Joining and Annual Fees:

5.8.1 Joining fees are;
Dual Membership:- $38.50 Membership + $5.50 Joining Fee = $44.00,
Single Membership:- $27.50 Membership + $5.50 Joining Fee = $33.00,
Concession Membership:- $11 + Joining Fee $5.50 = $16.50,
Junior Membership:- $5.50 Membership + $5.50 Joining Fee = $11.00.

5.8.2 The above mentioned fees also apply to anyone who has let their Membership lapse and wishes to rejoin the Club.

5.8.3 Renewal Fees are;
Dual Membership:- $38.50,
Single Membership:- $27.50,
Concession Rate:- $11.00 (per Member),
Junior Membership:- $5.50.
