I suggest that you read this before you read any of my stories. Currently I don't have anything posted that needs strong warnings, but if I do, or if a guest author does, these are the labelling terms I'll use
Yaoi
This is a Japanese term, it's actually an acronym, but for what I don't remember. It means, as far as this site is concerned, that stories marked like this will contain situations with male/male relationships. I probably won't use this, because it usually means there's sex in the story. And thus leads us to...
Shonen Ai
Also a Japanese term. Literally it means 'boy's love' and is more lighter. I might use this if there's just a mention of male/male relationships, or if it's something not involving sex.
Lemon
Umm... I can guarantee that you won't see any of my fics with this, but here's a definition because hey, ya never know! Basically it's a graphic portrayal of sex, or sex acts or whatever. Like I said... I'm too innocent to write that.
Lime
LOL. My friend recently got into reading fanfiction and asked me to explain what the difference between lemon and lime was. I think I said something along the lines of "Lemons are graphic sex. Limes are when they (the charas) get to the bedroom and the story cuts to the next morning... or are interrupted!" So yeah, includes heavy kissing, touching etc... No actual sex or penetration.
Fluff/sap
Speaks for itself. It's cute and fluffy and makes you feel good. 'So sweet you'll make your dentist rich!'
Angst
Exact opposite of fluff and sap! The characters tend to be depressed or moody. This describes the mood/tone (gah! all these English classes and I still can't tell the difference!!!!) of the story. Usually something bad happens to the charas to make them all angsty, or they're remembering bad things.
WAFF
I've seen this a lot, but Idon't know what it means. If you know, feel free to drop me a line. (needless to say it won't show up on my fics. At least untill I know.)
PWP?
Pretty much an acronym meaning Plot? What Plot? Shows up in one-shot stories that are mostly written for the sex.
Uh, most are self explanatory, like poetry, song fic, etc... Here's a few you might not know:
AU
Alternate Universe. The situations are impossible and don't follow the series.
Cross-Over
Uh, again, it's pretty self-explanatory. Two or more series combined.
Deathfic
A character dies. It's usually the whole point of the plot.
