This is my web page hope you like it. Ra Center of Worship: Helipolis and all of Egypt Ra is normally pictured as a man with the head of a falcon, and a solar disk with an uraeus around his head. He is the father of Shu and Tefnut, grandfather of Geb and Nut. Whose children are Osiris and Isis, Seth and Nephthys.. Ra is the god of the sun and king of all gods (Egypt pantheon). He is thought to be constantly is a war versus the great serpent god, Apep. They would battle in the twelve good hours, the day. Ra was thought to have usually be the victor. But on stormy days they people thought that Apep had won the day and swallowed the sun. In the twelve hours of darkness Ra was known as Auf, which means corpse. Here he and other gods took the celestial barge thorough the underworld. There they had to use minions of hell to move the boat. On some occasions Ra would fuse with Amun and they would be Amun-Ra, he also did this with Horus. They became Ra-Harakhte. Horus Center of Worship: All Egypt Horus is represented as a man with the head of a falcon. He is the god of light and the son of Osiris and Isis. He is also considered to be the holder of wisdom. In pre dynastic Egypt his followers invaded and conquered it. Horus was then portrayed as a warlord, but he played such a big part in the religion, since he was presumably related to Ra. Most of the the pharaohs at the time changed their names to Horus hoping to have favor in battle. He is famous for his on going fight against the murderer of his father, his jealous uncle Set. Horus became the pharaoh of Egypt after he defeats Set in a contest. Horus, like Ra takes the Celestial Barge into the underworld at night to travel to day. His wife Hathor is the goddess of Love and happiness. Anubis Center of worship: Any were. Anubis is the son of Osiris and Nepthys. He brought his father, Osiris back format the dead as a mummy. After this he thought the processes of mummification to all mortals who were interested. Anubis is pictured as a man with he head of a jackal . Embalmers (the people who make mummies) were jackal mask as a sign of praise to the god. Anubis is also the judge of death. He has a large set of scales that he weighs peoples hearts on. Every sin you commit adds a weight t the scale. If your heart weighs more than the other side you go to paradise. If it goes to The weighted side you are sentenced to eternal damnation. Bast Center of worship: Any place were cats are holy. Bast is the goddess of cats, love, and vengeance. She is described a a stunningly beautiful women with the head of a lioness. She may not look like a fighter but she is dangerous when angry. Bast was supposedly responsible for anything bad that happens to people who are bad to cats. Say you step on a cat’s tail, someone steps on you. That's how she became the goddess of vengeance. She also helps Ra and the other Gods fight Apep and his minions of darkness. Osiris Center of worship: Funeral homes. Osiris is the son of Geb and Nut. He is depicted as a powerfully built man. He and his sister/wife ruled all of Egypt for a period of time. Osiris taught people that cannibalism was wrong and how to work the fields. Isis taught the women craft and knitting. But Osiris’ brother, Set was really jealous of him. So he started a plan to get rid of him. Now were ever Set went he praised Osiris, Osiris took this as if Set had turned over a new leaf. So he had nothing o worry about and went to teach the Asians the way to live. He left Isis in charge of Egypt while he was gone. Now Set thought that this would happen and got his hooligans together and planned. On Osiris’ way home Set stopped him and asked him to a feast. Osiris thought nothing of it and went. After all the eating Set said let’s all have a bet. So all the minions of Set and Osiris agreed and Set brought out a box. Set then said,”Who ever can fit inside the box completely gets half of what I own.” All the people agreed to this. After a while no one could fit inside the box, then osirs decided to try. So he gets in and then All the people in the room shut the lid and lock it up. Magically the box turns into a coffin as Set takes it to an isle in the middle of the nile and turns it into a tree. Set then takes over all of Egypt. Isis in the mean while looks for Osiris and finds him. Set finds out and chops up the newly formed Osiris and scatters him to the winds. Isis then spends ten years finding him and has her son Anubi put him back together. But since Osiris has to stay in the cloth that Anubis put him in or die. So he decided to go into the underworld and become king. His son, Horus then declares war on Set for vengeance. Apep Center of worship: No were. Apep is not liked very well. Apep is a giant flaming serpent, he also can produces a legion of snake men instantaneously. He is the evil in the Egyptian pantheon. Ever day Ra and some of the more powerful gods would go out and stop him from destroying anything. On the days that Apep wins the battle it becomes stormy. But that doesn't deter him. HIs followers were people who on occasions would sacrifice people, mainly women to Apep to give him victory. Apep is not a god that people normally study.
