Tribute to Nebraska

Brought to you by Katie Leary

Why am i doing a tribute to Nebraska, you might ask. I am doing this tribute because...let's face it. What else does Nebraska have? Nothing. They have no professional sports teams, and no nationally known landmarks. Can you name one celebrity from Nebraska. I didn't think so.

This was taken by a camera atop the ALLTEL microwave tower, 225 feet above street level. It is a 360 degree view of Lincoln, Nebraska. In this picture, most of the buildings are parking garages. How many cars could there possibly be in the state?

This is a map of the beloved state. It is such a more interesting shape than old Pennsylvania. PA is just a rectangle with a chunk added on the top and two bumps added on the end.

This guy has nothing to do with Nebraska. I just thought he was kinda creepy.

This is a cornfield in Nebraska. A good amount of the state is covered in such fields. This is one of the flattest states in the U.S.

The state's population is about 1,570,006. Its capitol is Lincoln. One of Nebraska's biggest cities is Omaha. If you visit Lincoln, you could go to Elephant Hall where you can see the skeleton of the biggest mammoth ever found. Nebraska means the land of flat water. It's an Indian name. Nebraska's grasslands are different from any other grassland in the world. This state's now flat plains were once sand!

Isn't Nebraska more interesting than you thought??
