The Horror movie allows us to safely scare the hell out of ourselves we go to the theater or pop in a DVD turn down the lights putting ourselves in a situation where we fool our minds into believing that we are in danger when we are the farthest from it and this is the greatest feeling you can experience I think that of being scared when you are in no real danger great horror film makers have a way of putting you right in the middle of the story and causing you to believe that which is taking place on the screen could really happen and by using great characters helps you identify with them and thus fear for them there’s nothing like getting your adrenaline pumping without moving a muscle in your body. My favorite genre of film has got to be the horror movie with it’s blood sucking creatures of the night climbing from coffins as the sun sets to venture out for a bite to eat or the dead rising from the grave with only one thing on their rotting minds and that is the ingestion of human flesh to fill their rotted guts or the immortal killing machines such as Jason Voorhees and Michael Myers animated corpses of sorts with a one track mind KILL KILL KILL. Come forth the demons of hell in such movies as Hellraiser, Demons, the Exorcist and Evil Dead pain and pleasure heaven and hell God and the Devil a endless resource for horror films now and forever. Serial Killers have slashed their way onto the silver screen in recent decades and I think will be stabbing there way into our hearts for years to come there is nothing more frightening than monsters that truly exist in the world hell you could be living next door to one right now. Ghosts and poltergeists are scary because they may in fact exist isn’t it a terrifying thought that you could be brutally murdered and for some reason or another be trapped between the world of the living and the world of the dead for all eternity to torment the living only to be exorcised or worse used by a black magician as a tool.
