Mood:
[As a bundle of roses…] (1927) I saw the eve tonight as a bundle of roses. A golden, most subtle fragrance in the streets. In the heart impulsive goodness. In the hands the coat, on the turned head the moonlight. You would have said the atmosphere electrified with kisses. Thought, poems, an unnecessary weight. I have some broken wings. I have no idea why this summer has arrived. For what unforseen gladness, for what loves, for which long dreamt for journey. Kostas Karyotakis Translation ©Eugenia Russell
