Here are my favorite scenes staring Mokona from both the anime and manga.

Favorite Scenes

Season 1

* The Magic Knights meet Mokona (Episode 2)
The Magic Knights meet the fluffy one for the first time and is making a terrible mess spewing papers all about Presea's study. It sure seems Mokona likes paper products. :-) What's funny is that Presea believes Mokona *must* have had help in making the mess she finds--no one person could *possibly* make that much of a mess!

* Mokona talks to Hikaru in Presea's cage (Episode 2)
Mokona just barely squeezes between the cage bars holding the Magic Knights and talks with Hikaru for few seconds. What's hilarious is that it sounds like Mokona, who is going on and on, is actually having a conversation with her. How cute! :-)

* Mokona projects Clef upside down (Episode 7)
The ground quakes, Mokona gets bounced around and lands on its head. Mokona, still upside down, projects an image of Clef who talks to the Magic Knights. It's just like Mokona to not take things too seriously!

* Mokona munches a bun at lunch at the tavern (Episode 7)
Ferio treats the Magic Knights to lunch in town and all are seated in the tavern. The tavern keeper delivers a fresh plate of buns and tells how a desert mysteriously appeared on the other side of the forest. Watch that scene again and you'll notice Mokona is the only one who actually gets to eat a bun--Umi comes close, but never takes a bite! Lucky Mokona! :-)

* Mokona gets dizzy (Episode 8)
Mokona gets in the way of escaping forest creatures and gets spun around. Mokona looks quite dizzy afterwards--poor Mokona!

* Umi plays "whack a mole-kona" (Episode 9)
Stopping at a fork in the road as the Magic Knights await Mokona's direction of which path to take, the fluffy one picks... a flower instead. :-) This is all too much for Umi, who goes into one of her super-deformed mode temper tantrums and plays "whack a mole-kona".

* Mokona's angry stare at Umi (Episode 13)
Umi lets loose about the things she dislikes about Mokona--that constant smile and a knack for disappearing when danger is near. The fluffy one replies with an angry stare toward Umi, who is a bit surprised but likewise makes an angry face--then Mokona quickly kisses her. The sets off another one of Umi's super-deformed mode temper tantrums and chases after the hopping critter.

* Mokona sleeping in the cave (Episode 15)
The sound Mokona makes in the dubbed version when sleeping in the cave is soooo cute! :-)

* Umi asks if Mokona knows where Zagato is (Episode 18)
Umi compliments Mokona on being such a great guide, leading the Magic Knights to the Rune Gods. She asks when they are finished in the Fire Shrine if Mokona will tell them where Zagato is. Mokona shakes its body and Umi gets upset. She asks again, Mokona shakes even more vigorously ...and Umi starts to go into another super-deformed mode temper tantrum. :-)

* Selece chases after Mokona (the middle of the third Manga)
When Mokona shows the direction to Zagato, Umi is surprised and comments that the critter didn't know where Zagato was when asked before. Mokona plays dumb and Umi goes into another tantrum. Umi, now inside of Selece, runs after the fluffball. The image of a mighty giant robot chasing after the tiny hopping critter looks quite silly! :-)

* Primera's first "run in" with Mokona (Episode 23)
Primera starts to fly out of the room but plows straight into Mokona, who "plays defense" and blocks her exit. She calls Mokona a fluffball. :-)

* Mokona sleeping (Episode 24)
After a bad dream, Hikaru leaves her bed and heads for the door. The snugly puffball gives a startling "Pu" then makes cute sleeping sounds. :-)

* Primera's second run in with Mokona (Episode 25)
Primera senses some presence isn't from Cephero--she has that ability--and is angry Mokona agrees with her. Primera gets bounced off Mokona, and she curiously senses Mokona isn't from Cephero either. Manga spoiler: Click for more information.

* Primera's third run in with Mokona (Episode 26)
Primera suddenly wonders where Lantis is and Mokona points to himself. Primera is confused and wonders what part of Mokona's body is Lantis, and that Lantis doesn't have such a goofy looking face. It's so cute! :-)

* Umi hungers for Mokona (Episode 27)
Umi remarks how soft Mokona feels and wonders what the critter is made of--perhaps marshmallows or ice cream? Fuu asks if Umi will be eating Mokona... Mokona gets worried and hops away... and Umi chases after Mokona with a fork. She's kidding of course. Right? Right?!? Sure! ...although she does say she could use a snack. ;-)

* Mokona surprises Primera (Episode 28)
While seeking shelter under a rock from the rain, Primera insinuates Hikaru is making moves on Lantis. What happens next is an absolute shock for both Hikaru and (even more so for) Primera. Anime spoiler: Click for more information.

* Mokona mimes Hikaru using magic (Episode 44)
While imagining Hikaru with Lantis and fuming over it, Primera has *another* run-in with Mokona. This time the fluffball imitates Hikaru doing a flame arrow attack (it's quite cute) in a charades-like moment to represent Hikaru. Mokona tries to get the point across that contrary to what Primera believes, Hikaru is a good person.

* Shaken but not stirred (beginning of the sixth Manga)
Before leaving the castle to find the Pillar's road, Umi seeks a traveling vehicle and shakes Mokona as if doing so will make it fall out of the critter. :-) Well... Mokona gets the hint and materializes three winged flying vehicles.

* Say "Ahh!" (end of the sixth Manga)
