Ferrari is a company that builds really fast cars! The only bad thing is that the are very expensive to buy so basically a Ferrari is a dream car not a whole lot of people have but that a lot of people want.

A man named Enzo Ferrari who was born on February 18, 1898 near Modena, Italy started Ferrari. In Word War I he was working as a small carmaker where he converted the war surplus (extras). Then he ended up racing for Alfa Romeo. He got the Ferrari emblem while at a race in the Circuit of Sivocci. This happened when the parents of a well-known fighter pilot that died in the war. They then gave him their sun’s squadron badge, which was the famous prancing horse, and then later Ferrari added the gold (yellow) shield background because that is the color of Modena which is the closest city to Manello that produces (makes) Ferraris. The company of Ferrari really started in 1947. In the fifties the company Ford tried to take over Ferrari but obviously they didn’t. After they couldn’t take over Ferrari the tried to beat them in racing to but they also failed in that to except for one race which was the Le Mans 24 hour race but this was only because all of the Ferraris had some sort of problem with them so Ford finished 1^st, 2^nd, and 3^rd. In 1950 Ferrari started to join in on the F1 racing. Ferrari has competed in every F1 race since that time too. In 1969 Enzo Ferrari sold 50% or half of the Ferrari share capital to the group of Fiat. And in 1998 Enzo Ferrari had sold a total of 90% of Ferrari’s share capital to the company of Fiat. Enzo Ferrari died later that year in Modena on August 14, 988

Ferrari is one of the most well known manufacturers of very expensive sports cars. The other main well-known manufacturer of an expensive car is the Car Company of Lamborghini, which is also a very expensive type of car. Ferrari is also considered to be very prestigious. A lot of famous people (celebrities) purchase a Ferrari to keep up their image and make them look better. The Ferrari Company is also partly part of the company Fiat. Ferrari is not partly owned by Fiat’s automobile department but belongs directly to the management of Fiat. The company of Ferrari still has their own unique style unlike most of the company under the company of Fiat. The reason that most of the time if you see a Ferrari you can tell it’s a Ferrari because of its one of a kind unique exterior design. This is because Ferrari doesn’t design the exterior of the Ferrari cars the Design Company of Pininfarina. Pininfarina also deals with the furnishing and the color palette on all of the Ferrari models. Making new models for the Ferrari car company is both time and money consuming that’s why the release of a new model is a very important time for all the company that have some relationships with the Ferrari company and the people who buy the new model of the Ferrari. The newest model of a Ferrari is the Enzo Ferrari. The Enzo Ferrari was unveiled at last years (2002)-auto show in Paris, France. This car was named after the founder of the Ferrari Company Enzo Ferrari. The company of Ferrari only made 399 models of these cars and all of the models have been sold to people already. The Enzo Ferrari is fitted with a 6 liter V12 engine. This car also has a horsepower of 660 hp (which means this car can go pretty darn fast). The Enzo Ferrari can reach 60 miles per hour (mph) in 3.6 seconds. This car also has a top speed of 217 mph (try surviving the autobahn driving this car, you’ll kill yourself!) which is a lot faster than most cars you could buy to be able to drive it on the road. If you want to know how much money it costs well I’ll tell you $660,000.

If you could ever drive one of these cars you’d be pretty lucky because of how fast, good looking, and expensive Ferrari’s are. After doing this report I learned a lot about the past of the company of Ferrari. I think that this company and its past is very fascinating and neat if you ever want to look at some of the history of Ferrari or other sports cars like Lamborghini.
