You are about to enter a Gorean community. This online community has been created by Treve and is owned by men seeking a more realistic and true to form of Gor. Goreans sharing a belief in and commitment to a particular set of ideas and principles, commonly called Gorean Philosophy. Our vision of "Gor" is not subject to the old argument that Norman's writings are matters of "interpretations". To expose the Gorean Philosophy to such absurdity is preposterous, and only exposes those who are ignorant or uninformed.
Our goal is not to have the most populous site, but to have a realistic and educational site, where Gorean men and women can feel right at home exhibiting those rare, and often misunderstood, harsh characteristics which make them what they are.
Gor holds great beauty and adventure. Home Stones stretching from the northlands to the Southern Plains and from Thassa to the Barrens. Gor is a world parallel to our own in outward appearances, but quite different in the course its history has taken. It is an innocent and pristine world, a world full of possibility and future, a young world where the land is still free and the air is still clean.
It is populated by human beings, gathered in cultures and civilizations...descendants of men taken from the great peoples of Earth's past and transported to Gor. It is our own history, altered and set forward again to create a world that might have been. Gor is a grand fictional world based on one thing, not all are created equal!
So if the books are fiction, where does the "philosophy" come from? It is in the actions of these people, in the descriptions of their society and customs, and in the contrast that this fictional world is to our own, that the reader finds the philosophical points made by John Norman. A world serving as a parable, a means of expressing and demonstrating clearly considered philosophical and sociological mindset.
But the true foundation of this philosophy is not found in the books of John Norman, though they are what characterize and define it. It is our forgotten nature, and our lost past. In this way the Gorean Novels serve to awaken something that is already within, or perhaps reacquaint us with a part of ourselves that our own modern world has deluded and contaminated. Gor is not people trying to be characters out of a book, but individuals trying to live as what is natural to them, and taking inspiration from the philosophy shared in the saga the customs and traditions of the fictional people of Gor, their outlook on life, family, community, society and man's place in the world, serve as a model whose aspects can be a part of one's own real life.

You have been warned, and advised. If you have the courage, and still wish to continue through to view the site and meet the people, and enjoy all the beauty and hazards that are Gor. Treve is a Role Play area expressing real feelings based on the Gorean philosophy and viewing Gor as a reality and everything that exists in that actual world. The Roles are defined in the 26 books by John Norman. Roles based the part played by somebody in a given social context, with any characteristic or expected pattern of behavior that it entails.
