Forward: This past Monday on Raw......HBK had the night off, but that didn't keep him from getting into a little trouble. Backstage, HBK and Randy Orton exchanged some unflattering words to one another. Now, the two of them are set to take each other on one on one in a Lumber Jack Match! Will Shawn Michaels become the next Legend to be killed by Randy Orton? Or will the Legend live on, and prevail this Monday Night?
Scene #1: HBK's House In San Antonio!
Purpose: To Hype Raw!
The scene comes to light, and we see JR sitting in a chair in front of a fire place. He begins to speak.
"BBQ" Jim Ross: Hello everyone..... I'm here in San Antonio, at the house of our Undisputed Champion, Shawn Michaels. (the cameras pan over from JR to HBK, who is seen sitting in a chair, smiling, and chewing on some gum; the cameras pan back over to JR) Now Shawn, the first few questions i'm gonna ask you are about the current status of the WWE.
"The Heart Break Kid" Shawn Michaels: All right..... Lets get started.
"BBQ" Jim Ross: Okay.... Well, as you know......recently the faction known as the nWo has crumbled. And this in turn has paved the way for the birth of two new factions.......known as Evolution and DX. What are your thoughts on that? And how do you think these factions may affect you in the future?
"The Heart Break Kid" Shawn Michaels: Well JR, like you said.....the nWo is dead and gone. (smirks a little) And personally, I'd like to think I had a little something to do with that........with my two wins over nWo members in the first two weeks here in the WWE. But the bottom line is, whether I was a factor in it or not, the nWo is gone. And I think, that is a plus for the WWE and all of it's superstars..... (pauses for a second, then continues) On the other hand, with the nWo gone.......it leaves a lot of room for new guys to step in and take their place. Which in my opinion, is exactly what DX and Evolution have done. Now, as far as how DX and Evolution may affect me in the future........... I really couldn't tell ya what might go down. I mean, who even knows if these factions will even have me on their agenda? These two factions are still in their early stages at this moment, and if they've payed attention and learned from the mistakes of the nWo........then they'll know they're gonna need a lot more time to strengthen themselves before they start anything with me.
"BBQ" Jim Ross: Now, you say that your not quite sure if either of the factions will even have you on their agenda..... But just last week Randy Orton started a small confrontation with you backstage. Don't you think that would mean your on Evolution's agenda?
"The Heart Break Kid" Shawn Michaels: Not necessarily. What happened with Randy Orton last week wasn't that big of a deal, it was just a young kid being cocky. And what i'm going to do to Randy Orton on Raw this week, is strictly business at this point. It hasn't gotten personal, yet.......but it could.
"BBQ" Jim Ross: All right. Well now lets talk a little bit about DX...... You originally started that faction back in the old WWF days. Do you still feel a connection there? I mean, is there any possibility of a DX reunion sometime in the near future?
"The Heart Break Kid" Shawn Michaels: No. (laughs a little) There won't be any DX reunions.... Yes, I started DX back in the good ol' days of the WWF..........but is there still a connection? No. I have absolutely no ties with DX now.... Triple H, Chyna......all of them are doing their own thing, and I am in no way affiliated with any of it.
"BBQ" Jim Ross: All right. Well, enough about the two newest factions here in the WWE. Lets talk a little about the recent surge of talent here......guys like Sting, Flair, Jericho.... All guys who could one day challenge you for your Title.
"The Heart Break Kid" Shawn Michaels: Yeah, well.....your right. Everyone you just named could challenge me for my Title one day. Each of them are very talented, and I think they'll all bring something unique to the table here in the WWE....
"BBQ" Jim Ross: All right. Well, who can you see yourself in the ring with soon?
"The Heart Break Kid" Shawn Michaels: Uh... (thinks for a second) I could see either Ric Flair or Sting getting a big push here in the near future. But nothing's for certain here in the WWE, it could just as well be The Rock getting a push to challenge for my Title in the weeks to come.....
"BBQ" Jim Ross: Okay.... Well lets move on now to this past Monday on Raw.........Rey Mysterio beat Hogan to become the Number 1 Contender for your Undisputed Title. How do you feel about facing him at the King of The Ring?
"The Heart Break Kid" Shawn Michaels: Well, me and Mysterio........that's something I never thought I'd see, especially not for the Undisputed Title. (laughs a little) But by and by, I think our match at the King of The Ring will be a sight to see. I mean, one of the most talented cruiser weights of all time going up against myself, one of the all time greats period! It should be a wild and crazy match....
"BBQ" Jim Ross: All right. Well, now lets move onto this week on Raw. You versus Randy Orton in a Lumber Jack Match. The Legend versus The Legend Killer. How do you think it'll play out this Monday?
"The Heart Break Kid" Shawn Michaels: Well, I think it'll play out like this..... Sweet Chin Music, the 1-2-3, and The Legend kills The Legend Killer!
"BBQ" Jim Ross: Some very strong words, from a man who can back them up..... But what about the critics that say your time is about up? What about the people that say Randy Orton is the future of this business, and that he has your number?
"The Heart Break Kid" Shawn Michaels: Well, to the people that say that, I say this......... Yes, Orton may very well be the future of this business. Yes, he is very talented. Yes, he has beaten some big names in the past. But NO, my time is not up. NO, Orton does not have my number. And NO, Orton will not defeat me this Monday night on Raw! The fact of the matter is, Orton has a lot to learn. He's still more or less a rookie.......and he has a lot of learning to do before he's good enough to step up to the plate with Shawn Michaels on the mound.... Orton is cocky, a little too cocky. Trust me, I know. I was just like he was at his age.......which is why I didn't make a name for myself until I was a little older. You see, when I was at the same age Orton is at now......I had all the tricks, I had all the moves, and I had all the talent. My only problem was, my arrogance held me back. It's the same with Orton. His confidence will be his down fall, just like it was my down fall at his age. And until he over comes that arrogance of his, he's little or no threat to me in the ring.
"BBQ" Jim Ross: I see your point.... Now, a little earlier we were talking about factions, and how they may affect you. Well, Orton is a part of Evolution. And your match with Orton is a Lumber Jack Match. And you have to acknowledge that fact that Ric Flair will more then likely be one of the Lumber Jacks in your match this Monday. What role do you think this may play come Raw?
"The Heart Break Kid" Shawn Michaels: Well, Flair is the dirtiest player in the game. And he may play a very big role come Raw.... I'm sure he'll try to do everything in his power to ensure that Randy Orton walks away with a victory. Unfortunately for him, I won't let that happen. (smirks) You see, when somebody has been around as long as Flair has, you get familiar with his tactics. See, I know what Flair is capable of, and I know how to get around him. If Flair decides to stick his nose in my match this Monday, im fully prepared to stick my foot in his face. Who knows? This Monday, Flair might enjoy my match so much, that he may just get a kick out of it!
"BBQ" Jim Ross: All right. Well it was a pleasure meeting with you Shawn. Good luck on Monday.
The two men stand up and shake hands, as the scene fades to black...!
Scene #2: Confidential!
Purpose: To Hype Raw!
The scene opens up, and we see the Confidential logo flash across the screen.
Then we see Mean Gene Okerland standing behind his podium; the Confidential Theme is heard playing in the background...........Mean Gene begins to speak.
The cameras flash into some footage of WrestleMania X.

With Mean Gene
Mean Gene Okerland: Hello folks! And welcome to another exciting episode of Confidential. I am Mean Gene Okerland........and tonight we take an in depth look at one of the most entertaining superstars to ever grace a WWE ring. Tonight we take an in depth look at our current Undisputed Champion, "HBK" Shawn Michaels!
Mean Gene pauses......and the cameras cut to a different view of him.
Mean Gene Okerland: We start our journey into the life of Shawn Michaels the same way he started his wrestling career..... By acknowledging the man who helped create Shawn Michaels, his trainer, Jose Lothario.
The cameras cut from Mean Gene to a snap shot of Jose, as Jose's picture flashes across the screen, Mean Gene is heard talking.
Mean Gene Okerland: Jose Lothario trained Shawn Michaels in the traditional Mexican style of wrestling. If it wasn't for Jose's influence, the Heart Break Kid may have never performed those breathe taking high risk maneuvers he's known for today.
The cameras stop showing Jose's picture over the screen, and cut to a small scene of Shawn Michaels being interviewed about Jose and his beginings in the wrestling business.
"The Heart Break Kid" Shawn Michaels: Well, I remember being in college, and calling my dad up on the phone. And I was like: "Dad, i'm not doing anything in college, this is just a waste of your money, I want to go and try to become a professional wrestler." And my dad said to me....."All right son." So.....we got up the next morning and went to where Jose Lothario trained guys to become wrestlers..... We sat down, and I said to him I wanted to become a wrestler. And Jose said to me, 3 thousand dollars..... And my dad and I said all right, my father paid Jose, he began to train me. And after a couple of months, he looked at me and said..... "You know what? I think your ready." So, he got me my first couple of matches......and the rest is history.
The cameras cut from HBK's interview segment about Lothario, over to an interview segment about HBK with Shawn's mother in it.
HBK's Mama: Oh Shawn always loved wrestling. Every time it was on TV, ever since he was a young boy, he always had to watch his wrestling. Ric Flair was his favorite wrestler I think... I never actually thought his obsession with wrestling would take him as far as it took him, but when Shawn got his opportunity to break into the business he took it. And thanks to Jose Lothario Shawn excelled in it.
The cameras cut to some footage of Jose and Shawn training in a gym together......then they cut back to Shawn being interviewed.
"The Heart Break Kid" Shawn Michaels: Oh I owe Jose a lot. I mean A LOT! If it wasn't for him I might not be in the position that i'm in today.....
The cameras cut back to Mean Gene.
Mean Gene Okerland: Well, with the help of Jose Lothario.....Shawn was well on his way to becoming the superstar that he is today. When we come back from the commercial break, we'll show you some of the matches that made Shawn Michaels what he is today......the Show-Stopper!
Scene fades into a commercial break...
***********COMMERCIAL************
The scene comes back from the commercial break........and Mean Gene is seen and heard talking again.
Mean Gene Okerland: Welcome back folks. Now it's time to take a look back at the matches that made Shawn Michaels the ICON that he is today. We start with a match the firmly sealed HBK's fate of becoming a great in this sport of ours........ We begin with the Shawn Michaels Ladder Match against Razor Ramon at WrestleMania X.
The cameras flash into some footage of WrestleMania X.

A Leap of Faith
After the footage of HBK's Ladder Match at WrestleMania X concludes, the cameras cut back to Mean Gene Okerland.
Mean Gene Okerland: Wow! That Shawn Michaels is quite an athlete! But that Ladder Match was just the tip of the ice berg for HBK.... Because just two years after that historic match......HBK was ready to make history once again! He had just won the Royal Rumble for the second time in his career. And now it was time for him to face Bret "The Hitman" Hart at WrestleMania XII. Only this wouldn't be an ordinary match. This match would be the first ever Iron Man Match. A match that would not only test Shawn's physical conditioning, but his will to win as well. We now take a look back at that match......
The cameras cut from Mean Gene to some footage of the Iron Man Match at WrestleMania XII.

|
Who Is The Iron Man?
After the footage of the Iron Man Match at WrestleMania XII ends......the cameras cut to another Interviewing segment of HBK.
"The Heart Break Kid" Shawn Michaels: Well, the Iron Man match will always be very special to me. It was the culmination of my hard work. I mean, you can't explain the feeling you have when you finally accomplish something of that magnitute. (a smile comes over his face just thinking about the match) It's something I know I'll never forget........and it's something I think the fans will never forget.
The cameras cut back to Mean Gene.
Mean Gene Okerland: By WrestleMania XII, Shawn was well on his way to becoming a Legend. He was in the first ever Ladder Match, and he was in the first ever Iron Man match.... He was the first man to win a Royal Rumble when entering it as Number 1. And one of the most popular superstars at this point in time. (pauses, as the cameras cut to a better view of him) But Shawn's list of firsts wasn't over yet. He had another big first coming up.... At the peak of his career, and in the early stages of assembling DX, Shawn was caught up in a strong rivalry with The Undertaker. And now there was only one way to settle it......inside the first ever......Hell in a Cell!
The cameras cut to some footage of Shawn and The Undertaker in the Hell in a Cell.

Shawn is heard in a voice over as the footage plays......
"The Heart Break Kid" Shawn Michaels: The Hell in a Cell was an extremely fun match to be a part of. It was something the fans had never really seen before.......and it was something the WWE had certainly never seen before. The first thing I remember asking when I first saw it.......was can we do something off the top?
Taker and HBK

Battle it out a-top the Cell
The cameras cut back to Shawn, as the footage ends....
"The Heart Break Kid" Shawn Michaels: All in all I think the match turned out great! One of the best matches of my career. And some say the best of all the Hell in a Cell matches.
The cameras cut back to Mean Gene Okerland.
Mean Gene Okerland: Well that was one brutal match up folks! Shawn had now become unarguably one of the greatest sports entertainers of all time. Unfortunately though, his career was put on hold, when Shawn injured himself in a Casket match against The Undertaker a few weeks after his Hell in a Cell match with him. Shawn knew right away that he was hurt........but regardless of his injury, he wrestled at that years WrestleMania anyway. That match, which was with Stone Cold Steve Austin, was thought to be Shawn Michaels's last match. Shawn was sidelined with a broken back for 4 years. Some thought he'd never return..... But he did! In 2002 HBK returned! He defeated Triple H at Summerslam in his return match........and then went on to win the World Title in the Elimination Chamber. That's right, once again Shawn helped introduce another first in this business! Lets take a look now, at this ground breaking match...............
The cameras flash into some footage of Surivivor Series 2002.

The Elimination Chamber
HBK is heard talking in a voice over during the footage.....
"The Heart Break Kid" Shawn Michaels: To me......this match signified my return. I mean, before this match, yeah, I had wrestled against Triple H.........but it still wasn't clear if that match was a one time thing, or if I was back for good. This match made it very clear to everyone, I WAS BACK!
HBK is the sole Survivor
|
The new World Champ!
The footage ends.......and the cameras cut back to Mean Gene.
Mean Gene Okerland: So there you have it folks..... All of the events that have lead HBK up to this point. Now, HBK has once again climbed to the top of the mountain, he's once again the Heavyweight Champion! Shawn competed in a battle royal match on Raw, where he won the Undisputed Championship....... He has a long road ahead of him, but it's nothing HBK won't be able to handle..... We leave you now with the comments of Shawn himself, on the upcoming events that he'll be involved in.
The cameras cut to Shawn Michaels....
"The Heart Break Kid" Shawn Michaels: Well there you have it! You've just witnessed the events and matches that made me who I am today..... I was the innovator of the Ladder Match. I made the Iron Man Match what it is today. I beat The Undertaker in the first EVER Hell in a Cell! And I even took part in, and won, in the first ever Elimination Chamber. YES! I have done it all! The first in everything.... And this Monday......I'll add another first to that list. Randy Orton..... Orton, your gonna be the first member of Evolution I defeat in a Lumber Jack match! But don't get down on yourself because your gonna lose.......look on the bright side of things........at least, you'll be apart, of history!
And with that.....the Confidential logo flashes across the screen again.
as the scene fades to black...!
