This house was once a hiding place for those slaves who had made it to the freedom of Canada. They hid from the merciless bounty hunters who followed them. The cellar of this home has the axe marks of an early time. It also has the bullet holes from the war fought on our soil! This area is rich in history. From Native Americans to Immigrant settlers we live in a cultural mosaic we embrace.
