Welcome!

Welcome everyone. To those who don't know what the Salt-2-Soap program is, I will tell you in a second. It is a program coordinated by Young Friends of Jesus and Mary. It is a program that we started to help the missions in Africa. The people in these missions are sooo poor. I am sad to say they are the poorest of the poor. They have none of the things that we take for granted. No salt at all either. As we all should know, we need salt to live. Without salt we may not live properly. We could have some health problems that can cause us to die and more. Our program started in a very interesting way. You see, it all started one day when Sister Rosa (she is also part of the group ) told us about the missions in Africa. She asked us if we would like to help them. We said sure of course. So we started to plan everything out. Little by little. But we didn't know that we were going to do it nationwide. We didn't plan it like that. Our plans were to just do it in our school. But doing it nationwide is much better and will help the missions in Africa much more. Our group's first actions were to do a car wash. We sold presold tickets for $3. Of course we did also wash some cars that didn't buy a presold ticket. But they had to pay $5 instead. The car wash was a great success. We earned lots of money and washed a lot of cars. But our "journey" of helping the African missions has just begun.
We just finished our drive on collecting the donations for it. We finished it about a week or two ago. These are the winners for the drive. Mrs. Polacek's 5th grade class won 1st. They will be recieveing donuts and hot chocolate, the statue of the Immaculate Mary and to what i know they will be having free dress sometime; according to their teacher's wishes.
