Aithne Veradine.
Barbara: An unusual name. Do you know what it means?
Yes, I do actually. It means fire in Celtic.
Barbara: Hmm, interesting. Any nicknames?
Of course: Sam, Sammy, Meg, Wilson, booky, etc.
Barbara: Your site, Pyrowhere, has been growing increasingly in popularity among both yuppies and rednecks alike—but there is one question that has not been answered. Why did you create Pyrowhere?
I created Pyrowhere out of sheer boredom one day. I had been playing with the candles in my living room, when I had this great epiphany: Pyrowhere.
Barbara: Playing with candles? What other hobbies do you have?
I am a writer by trade, but I am also interested in playing music (especially Celtic and rock), as well as English history.
Barbara: Collect anything?
-sigh- Some people I know collect stamps or those funny new quarters. Me? I collect quotes.
Barbara: Many have often tried to see into the mind of Aithne Veradine, but none have succeeded. This leaves a lot for us to wonder about you. For example, what are your favorite movies?
Peter Jackon’s rendition of theLord of the Rings trilogy, especially The Two Towers and Return of the King. Pirates of the Caribbean is also on my favorites list, along with America’s Sweethearts. I also enjoyed Monty Python and the Quest for the Holy Grail.
Barbara: It’s been mentioned that you were once an avid reader. Any book recommendations?
Yes, actually. I love Sabriel, the first book in the Old Kingdom trilogy by Garth Nix. Also, Sherwood Smith’s Crown Duel was an excellent read. I recommend Servant of the Shard from R. A. Salvatore’s Drizzt series.
Barbara: Those are all fantasy books, are they not?
They are. I love fantasy—it takes a reader away.
Barbara: Interesting. Aithne, do you have any idea of the future of this site and where you want it to go?
I can barely plan this afternoon, and you want me to plan the future of my site…? Oh well, sure why not? I want Pyrowhere one day to be a place everything—one mass of writing, humor, and people…with a pretty background, of course.
Barbara: What color will that background be?
Dark, preferably. Somber. Mysterious.
Barbara: Do you have any dark secrets?
Yes, actually.
Barbara: Care to share them with us?
Maybe tomorrow. Today is too sunny for my cheap lighting effects.
Barbara: Yes, I’ve noticed. Well, it was nice to interview you, Aithne. I wish you well on your site, and I hope everything goes smoothly.
Thanks, Ms. Walters.
