praxis
This site was made as part of our 'praxis' in our course Politics and Governance. Praxis meaning learning theories regarding certain subjects and doing an amount of action based from what you have learned.
My classmates and I always talk about how people in the Philippines are not that educated when it comes to political matters, and how this leads to misinformation and formulation of incorrect assumptions regarding government issues.
I thought of building a site that informs the public about the characteristics of politics in the Philippine setting. Sana this would give the general public an idea of OUR politics.
Hopefully, some of the knowledge I have shared in this website would inform and educate people and of course lead them to better judgments regarding political issues.
I'm Marie Go, currently a freshman at De La Salle University. This site may seem simple to some, but my opinions and views (& notes!) regarding the things I have learned in class are here, and I value them, I believe in them. After all, for most it's just what I think.
After exploring this site and learning some stuff therefore forming opinions of your own, I challenge YOU, yes you, to do a little 'praxis' of your own. Write to your barangay chairman, to your mayor, to anyone in office if you have any problems. If action is properly undertaken, well then good. If not, at least you did your part as a citizen of this country. : )
