Machiavelli is a political strategy game set in Renaissance Italy in which players use their armies, fleets, wealth and diplomatic skills in an attempt to dominate the Italian peninsular.
Players manoeuvre their armies and fleets in order to take control of provinces and cities. Control of cities, provinces and sea areas increases treasuries which can be used to build further units or, perhaps, for more nefarious purposes. The first power to control at least 15 cities and have control of at least two original home countries (e.g. their own and one other player's) is declared the winner.
