I believe in

1 Corinthians 13 - Study This Chapter13 There are three things that will endure – faith, hope, and love – and the greatest of these is love.

Mt 5:17 - Show Context
"Don't misunderstand why I have come. I did not come to abolish the law of Moses or the writings of the prophets. No, I came to fulfill them.

Mt 7:12 - Show Context
"Do for others what you would like them to do for you. This is a summary of all that is taught in the law and the prophets.

Most important law: The Great Commandment: Mark 12:28-34

28 One R425 of the scribes came and heard them arguing, and recognizing R426 that He had answered them well, asked Him, "What commandment is the foremost F215 of all?" 29 Jesus answered, "The foremost is, `HEAR R427 , O ISRAEL! THE LORD OUR GOD IS ONE LORD; 30 AND R428 YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND, AND WITH ALL YOUR STRENGTH.' 31 "The second is this, `YOU R429 SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF.' There is no other commandment greater than these." 32 The scribe said to Him, "Right, Teacher; You have truly stated that HE R430 IS ONE, AND THERE IS NO ONE ELSE BESIDES HIM; 33 AND R431 TO LOVE HIM WITH ALL THE HEART AND WITH ALL THE UNDERSTANDING AND WITH ALL THE STRENGTH, AND TO LOVE ONE'S NEIGHBOR AS HIMSELF, is R432 much more than all burnt offerings and sacrifices." 34 When Jesus saw that he had answered intelligently, He said to him, "You are not far from the kingdom of God." After R433 that, no one would venture to ask Him any more questions.

What does it mean to be a Christian?
To me it means to believe in your heart and profess with your mouth that Jesus Christ is the son of God, the creator of Heaven and Earth, he died to save you from your sins, and accept him into your heart and study and learn to follow his teaching.  All have sinned, fallen short of our full potential.  God is aware of every mistake you have made, and Jesus was willing to take the punishment and  forgive us all and teach us to rise above the flesh.   Jesus came to give us hope, give us a reason to do things right.   I would like to encourage you to study the bible, mostly the New Testament. I think the Gospel of John should be the first book you read.
