Edge of Seventeen was a good movie. It was based in 1984 in Ohio. A seventeen year old guy gets a job in the kitchen at an amusement park. While working at the park, he discovers his infatuation with a guy that likes him. They play around a bit...and then they kind of go their own ways. Eventually the main character in the movie is approached by his mom about his being gay. She told him the way he was dressing and what not was going to make people think he is gay. He just said he wasn't and accused her of being crazy. I think in this part of the movie he was really trying to deny it even to himself. He tried to get romantically involved with his best female friend...but he eventually just crushes her heart. He does come out and have friends in the community and finds a boyfriend...but it was a sad movie to me because of the strained relationship with his best friend.
