    Welcome to the Newt Haven, the informational site devoted to the common yet elegant Oriental Fire Bellied Newt. This delicate creature is a common vivarium pet. The Fire Bellied Newt, though inexpensive and thought of as a beginner's pet, can provide more of a challenge. Though the animal itself is not expensive, caring for and maintaining them could be very costly. 

About Newt Haven

I am a newt keeper and breeder. I own  two fire bellies, one male and one female. The male is Blaze and his mate is Amazon. They are both mature adults who have successfully bred in the 2003 season. I hope the story of how I acquired them, and how they became a part of my family is an inspiration to all others considering, or already, pursuing the keeping of these marvelous animals.
