Another place I spent a lot of time at early on is neoholic.com. It shows unreleased and new stuff, game tips, links to other places, and cool codes. So go to neoholic.com now!

Love anime? check out mimisk8.com, the most complete anime site I have ever found. I mean... wow. Mostly for music, but has backgrounds, shop welcome signs, user lookups, and tons of everything anime. Link here
Another great site with interesting layout and truly unique bits is one of the lesser known neo-based sites. Gothic Angel is where many people get their user lookups, and you can find backgrounds and anime there as well. So what can I say... go here.
