Patricia Wiley Shafer, age 72, of Three Rivers, MI, ascended unto God on Friday, March 26, 2010 at the Borgess-Pipp Hospital in Plainwell. She was born in San Diego, Calif., on May 10, 1937, the daughter of Edward B. “Boppy” and Lillie May (Pearson) Wiley.

Mrs. Shafer has been a long time resident of this area. She was of the Baha’i Faith and was a very active member. She served as assistant to the auxiliary board of the Baha’i Faith. She was also active in her community, serving on the board of the George Washington Carver Center, Executive Director of the St. Joseph County Mediation Center and also taught art at the Commission on Aging.

Pat was an avid and talented artist and poet, well known in Chicago galleries during her early career. She was, also a contributor in Millennial Mystics, participating in public talks and gallery shows with other Baha'i artists.

Patricia was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Stephen Shafer.
