When the Predojevics arrived in Australia they bought this house in a suburb of Newcastle called Elermore Vale. The Predojevics called this humble abode "home" for four years. Milan added two bedrooms and did other major improvements to the house. It was a haven for cockroaches when the Predojevics moved in. But the Predojevics won the battle and eventually the cockroaches moved out.

Then an opportunity presented itself for Milan to invest in business. Unfortunately, he needed money to seize the chance. There was only one thing to do - sell the family home.

For the next four to five years the Predojevics lived above the offices of the business Milan bought. This business is called Teralba Auto Dismantlers. As they also sell used cars the part of the business selling used cars is called Milé Autos, after the only son in the family, Milé.

All the sacrifices and hard work were not in vain. In 2001 Milan bought the next house in a suburb called Belmont North.

It does look a bit bigger, doesn't it? What the picture does not show is that the double garage is double deep as well; therefore it is a four car garage. At present it is mostly occupied by Milan's boat on its trailer.

We'll first step into the house and have a good look-around and then we will look at the grounds.

The games roomThe TV room

The games room is just to the left of the stairs as one enters. It is on the lower level and nice and cool on a hot day, even without the air-conditioning. The house has a ducted split-system air-conditioning unit. That just means that all the working parts are outside the house and the cooled (or heated) air is ducted into the various rooms in the house. The benefit of such a system is its silence.

The TV room with its huge screen TV attracts kids like a magnet. Unfortunately, according to Milan, even the big screen does not make the awful soaps any better.
The dining roomThe kitchen

Napoleon said an army marches on its stomach. Milan is not sure about the truth of this statement, but he didn't want to take any chances. The new house devotes ample space to the provision of nourishment. On the right photo you can see the womenfolk happily working in the big kitchen with its huge working area. Milan has just come in to see that things are still going well. No, he's not checking up to see that the women are still hard at work. Well, maybe just a little. Busy hands are happy hands, and Milan wants to keep the womenfolk happy.

On the left you can see the dining room with its big table. Twelve people can eat a meal here in comfort. There is of course also a table in the kitchen at which six can eat. No, it is not true that Milan makes the women eat in the kitchen.

The main bedroom

After a busy day scouring the auction sites for used cars, a swim in the pool and a good meal or two, this is where Milan relaxes. On the right you can see the entrance to the en-suite bathroom.

You've now seen some of the highlights inside the house, let's see what it looks like outside.

Two views of the swimming pool

The swimming pool is a big attration to old and young alike. The water is nice and warm in the hot weather. Of course, it is much cooler than outside. All the pipes are already coupled to install solar heating so the swimming pool can be used year round. In the hot, humid weather this pool sees much use.

The back yard

Milan has two barbecues in the paved back yard. It is a totally secluded spot where he can entertain out of doors. The tall buildings surrounding it create ample shadow on hot days. And if it gets too hot, the swimming pool is just around the corner.

You may have asked yourself what made all this possible for Milan. Of course, persistent hard work and common sense is most of the answer. And of course, none of this would have been possible without God's blessing.

But what does Milan do, you ask. Just below is a picture of the business. If you want to know more about the business follow this link.
